A one-car accident Friday on Highway 190, one mile north of Trezevant claimed the life of a 30-year-old Pillowville Community man.

Jason Paul Jackson, 3511 State Highway 124, Greenfield, was traveling north in a 1988 Ford when he exited the roadway on the right side. He apparently overcorrected and veered off the left side of the road and struck a tree, according to a report filed by Trooper Phillip Steele of the Tennessee Highway Patrol. A passing motorist discovered the accident and called authorities at 8:26 p.m.

The victim was transported to McKenzie Regional Hospital by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead a short time later by the attending emergency room physician. The victim sustained closed head trauma and multiple injuries, according to Carroll County Coroner Steve Cantrell.

Responding to the scene besides the Tennessee Highway Patrol, were Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, Trezevant Police Department, District 16 and Trezevant Fire Departments, Carroll County Rescue, McKenzie Fire and Rescue and Air Evac was on standby.

Jackson was a former employee of Tower Automotive of Milan. He leaves his wife, Christy, an employee of McKenzie Banking Company in McKenzie, three young sons, Coty, Tyler and Travis, ages 10, 9, and 6, of Greenfield and a daughter, Cholsie Kinney of Michigan.
