Missing Huntingdon Teen Found

Kristara “Krissy” Johnson, a missing 16-year-old from Huntingdon, was located in Fruithurst, Alabama, according to a news release from the Huntingdon Police Department. On Thursday, the HPD received a phone call from a citizen in Fruithurst who indicated Johnson was at asleep at the caller's residence.

Angie Barker, a Huntingdon police officer, phoned Alabama law enforcement authorities, who went to the home, located Johnson, and took her in custody. She was moved to a detention center in Anniston, Alabama, where her mother could take custody of the runaway.

Kristara “Krissy” Johnson, daughter of Shelly Greer, had been missing since Tuesday , October 16, when she walked away from her 295 Cotham Drive home. She left the home at approximately 7 p.m. wearing a dark tank top, dark jeans and no shoes, according to Joe Parker, Huntingdon Police Department director of safety. Her mother reported her missing when she failed to return by midnight.

The family moved to Huntingdon approximately four weeks ago, said Parker. Krissy attended her first day at Huntingdon High School Monday, October 15.
