A longtime employee of Replogle Lumber Company in Henry was killed in an accident there Tuesday morning.

Fred Allen, 66, died at approximately 9:15 a.m. when he became caught up in heavy equipment he was working on in a building where the lumber cutting process is conducted.

The victim died instantly said Henry County Coroner Danny Tucker, who pronounced him dead at the scene.

Several employees were working near Allen with the tragedy occurred.

“My prayers and thoughts go out to the family, especially at this time of year,” said Tucker.

Ridgeway Funeral Home is in charge of services.
