A three-vehicle accident Thursday morning
in the town of Trezevant involved a Carroll
County school bus transporting 46 West
Carroll students. One young female student
on the bus sustained a minor lip injury and
the driver of one vehicle was transported to
the hospital, according to Trooper Shane
Steele of the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
According to Trooper Steele, a Barker
Brothers Waste Management truck driven by
David Lee Bailey, 29, of Winston Road,
McKenzie, was stopped on Highway 105 at
approximately 7:30 a.m. to pick up garbage.
Stopped behind his vehicle was a 1999
Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Marshawn Fuller,
34, of Fox Trot Lane, McLemoresville. A
passenger in the Fuller vehicle was Fullers
nine-year-old son, Tristen Fuller. Bailey
was the lone occupant of the garbage truck.
As the bus approached the two vehicles,
driver Barbara Coleman, 31, of Coleman Lane,
Atwood, was unable to stop and struck the
rear of the Fuller vehicle, which caused it
to strike the garbage truck.
Another school bus was sent to the scene to
off load students who were then transported
to school, the trooper said.
Marshawn Fuller was transported by ambulance
to a local hospital, following the
collision. |
