RICHARD (BUTCH) TAYLOR
1959-2007
TREZEVANT: Richard (Butch) Taylor, 47, died Monday,
January 15, at his residence. Funeral services were
Thursday, January 18, at 1 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home
in McKenzie with burial in Wilders Cemetery in Big Buck
community.
Mr. Taylor was born September 26, 1959 to the late
Chester Taylor, Jr. and Lottie Ruth Reeves Taylor.
Survivors include: a special friend, Debbie Harris of
McLemoresville; two daughters, LaTasha (Adam) Crocker of
Milan and Krystal Taylor of Huntingdon; one son, Ryan
Taylor of Gibson; one brother, Ronnie (Tracy) Taylor of
McKenzie; one half brother, Donald Taylor of Leach; one
sister, Charlotte Dailey of McKenzie; and three
grandchildren, Madison Crocker, Benjamin Crocker and
Dylan Taylor.
CHARLES LUTHER MCCULLAR
1927-2007
GLEASON: Charles Luther McCullar, 79, died Monday,
January 15, at his home. Funeral services were Thursday,
January 18, at 2 p.m. at Tumbling Creek Baptist Church
with Rev. Gene Price officiating. Burial followed in
Tumbling Creek Cemetery.
Mr. McCullar was born April 15, 1927 in Sidonia to the
late Elmer D. and Ollie B. (King) McCullar. He was a
production foreman at Gaines Furniture in McKenzie. He
was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Evelyn
McCullar, and one brother, J.B. McCullar.
Survivors include: one daughter, Charlene Snider of
Gleason; one sister, Gladys Barham of Memphis; two
brothers, Jimmy McCullar of Selmer, and Robert McCullar
of Martin; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
Gallimore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
REBA SLOAN WINTERS
HUNTINGDON: Reba Sloan Winters, 81, died Monday, January
15, at Baptist Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services
were Thursday, January 18, at George A. Smith and Sons
South Chapel at 1 p.m. Burial followed at Oakview Memory
Gardens in Bells, TN.
ELIZABETH THOMASON HALL
MEMPHIS: Elizabeth Thomason Hall, 65, formerly of
Huntingdon, died Sunday, January 14, in Delta Medical
Center. Funeral services were Tuesday, January 16, at 1
p.m. at St. Lukes United Methodist Church with burial in
Mt. Comfort Cemetery in Carroll County.
Survivors include: three sons, John Richard (Karen) Hall
of Memphis, Gregory Thomas (Sharon) Todd of Houston,
Texas and James Bowlin (Colleen) Hall of Chapel Hill,
North Carolina; and three grandchildren.
Oakdale Funeral Home in Camden was in charge of
arrangements.
WILLIAM ARTHUR CHISM
1928-2007
HUNTINGDON: William Arthur Chism, 78, died Friday,
January 19, at Milan General Hospital. Funeral services
were Monday, January 22, at 1 p.m. at New Independence
Church with Bro. Wayne Tidwell officiating. Burial
followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Chism was born April 5, 1928 in Clinton, Arkansas to
the late Earl Ernest and Amanda Emerson Chism. He was a
self-employed carpenter. He was preceded in death by his
parents, one sister, Ruby Forthman; and his stepmother,
Palmer McCowen Chism.
Survivors include: his wife of 59 years, Iona Douglas
Chism; five daughters, Sue Bullington of Huntingdon,
Loretta Johnson of Tomkana, Oklahoma, Amanda Hills of
Olathe, Kansas, Linda Newton of Trezevant, and Valerie
Riddle of Cedar Grove; four sons, William Earl "Sonny"
Chism of Pensacola, Florida, Willard Chism of Colwich,
Kansas, Donald Chism of Huntingdon, and Matt Chism of
Chanutc, Kansas; one sister, Ruth Chism of Morrilton,
Arkansas; one brother, Opie Chism of Morrilton,
Arkansas; thirty-one grandchildren and seventy-two
great-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
KENNETH EUGENE MORRIS
1952-2007
PURYEAR: Kenneth Eugene Morris, 54, died Sunday, January
21, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris. Funeral
services will be Wednesday, January 24, at 11:30 a.m. in
LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Gary Collier
and Andy VanDyke officiating. Burial will follow in
Hillcrest Cemetery in Paris.
Mr. Morris was born March 17, 1952 in Gleason to the
late Walter Lee and Nina Maude Orr Morris. He was a
member of West Wood Pentecostal Church of God in Paris,
worked at Emerson Electric over 20 years as a machinist
set-up, then worked at Mohon in Paris, and was a union
steward for IAM Union. Other than his parents, he was
preceded in death by one sister, Vesta Mae Bratton, and
two brothers, Herman and Sherman Morris.
Survivors include: one son, Kenneth Eugene (Melissa)
Morris, Jr. of Mascoutah, Illinois; one daughter,
Christy (Andy) VanDyke of Paris; four sisters, Dorothy
Wilson of McKenzie, Joyce (Ken) Parham of New Orleans,
Louisiana, Sue (Ronnie) Singleton of Paris, and Janice
Lewis of Paris; two brothers, Roy (Shirley) Morris and
William "Buddy" (Kay) Morris, both of Paris; and four
grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Ridgeway Funeral Home on Tuesday
from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until
time of service.
PHILLIP SINGLETON
1965-2007
ATWOOD: Phillip Singleton, 41, died Sunday, January 21,
at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral
services will be Thursday, January 25, at 11:00 a.m. in
the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Burton
officiating. Burial will follow in the Pisgah Cemetery.
Mr. Singleton was born October 31, 1965 in Gibson
County. He was a quality control technician for the D N
L Company, and was a member of the Atwood United
Methodist Church.
Survivors include: his father and mother, Robert Murray
Singleton Jr. and Patsy (Beaty) Singleton of Atwood; and
one brother, Chris (Tabitha) Singleton of McKenzie.
The family will receive friends in the Oakwood Room of
Chase Funeral after 12:00 noon on Wednesday and from
8:00 a.m. until time of services on Thursday.
MELBA MCCLURE MOSELEY
MCKENZIE: Melba McClure Moseley died Monday, January 22,
at Vanderbilt Rehabilitation Center in Nashville.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete at presstime at
Brummitt Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Moseley.
Survivors include: two sons, Johnny and Bobby Moseley,
and one daughter, Pattie Coleman.
J.B. JOHNSONIUS
1922-2007
MCKENZIE: J.B. Johnsonius, 84, died Monday, January 22,
at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were
incomplete at presstime with Brummitt Funeral Home in
charge.
Mr. Johnsonius was born June 19, 1922 to the late H.M.
and Donna McFadden Johnsonius. He was owner/operator of
Johnsonius Sheet Metal which was established in 1927 by
his parents, Hobson and Donna Johnsonius, and was one of
the oldest Lennox dealers in the U.S. He was a member of
First Presbyterian U.S.A. and lifetime member of VFW and
WWII veteran.
Survivors include: two daughters, Viki (George) Hatcher
of San Antonio, Texas, and Teri (Loyd) Ford of Calvert
City, Kentucky; two sons, J.B. (Jenny) Johnsonius, Jr.
of Paris, and Hoppy (Kim) Johnsonius of McKenzie; one
sister, Jean (Paul) Straub of Memphis; and 10
grandchildren. |
