World’s Biggest Fish Fry Starts Monday, Fish
Tent Open Four Days |

PARIS, Tenn. – The World’s Biggest Fish Fry
is next week in Paris/Henry County. The
week-long event begins with a kickoff dance
and ends with the IPRA Rodeo.
Monday’s lone event is the kickoff dance at
7:00 p.m. at the Fairgrounds.
The carnival opens Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. and
a country dance is 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Both
events are at the Henry County Fairgrounds.
Wednesday, the Fish Tent opens with the
ceremonial throwing of the first hushpuppy
by the WBFF Royalty. Be there for the
opening ceremonies when Hostess Princess
Cortney Delaine Haley tosses out the first
hushpuppy and members of local service
organizations yell out “hot fish” as they
begin serving. The Fish Tent opens at 5:00
pm on Thursday, April 24 and at 11:00 am on
Friday and Saturday, April 25 and 26.The
fresh, fried, catfish fillet dinners include
golden brown French fries, homemade white
beans, delicious coleslaw, hushpuppies made
from a secret recipe and an ice cold drink.
The fillet dinners are only $10 for all one
can eat.
The Fish Tent is open 5 to 9 p.m. on
Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
on Friday and Saturday.
Also Wednesday, a Christian concert is at
7:00 p.m. The carnival is open 5 to 11 p.m.
The events are at the Fairgrounds.
Thursday, the Arts and Crafts Show is 5:00
to 8:30 p.m. and the rodeo is at 7:30 p.m.
The rodeo is at 7:30 p.m., and the carnival
is open 5 to 11:00 p.m. The events are at
the Fairgrounds.
Friday begins with the grand parade at 10:00
a.m. along East Wood Street in Paris. The
Fish Tent opens at 11:00 a.m. and closes at
9;00 p.m. The carnival opens at 11:00 a.m.
and closes at midnight. The Rodeo is at 7:30
p.m.
Saturday is the Horse and Mule Farm Pulling
Contest at 10:00 a.m. at the Fairgrounds. In
downtown, the Small Fry Parade is at 10:00
a.m.; the Jr. Fishing Rodeo is at noon to
3:00 p.m. at Williams Lake; and a car show
is scheduled at the Henry County High
School. The Arts and Crafts Show is at 10:00
a.m. at the Fairgrounds.
The ever-popular Catfish Races are downtown
at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and sponsored by the
Paris Post-Intelligencer. The carnival is
11:00 a.m. to midnight at the Fairgrounds,
and the Fish Tent is 11 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The Rodeo begins at 7:30 p.m. at the
Fairgrounds.
On Sunday, the carnival is open 1 to 6 p.m.
