MCKENZIE (February 14) — McKenzie’s Water Commission met briefly Thursday night to discuss methodology to gather statistics of “unaccounted for water”. This is due to Tennessee House Bill number 743, passed last July, which requires all state utility districts to declare their “unaccounted for water loss” in their annual audit reports. The bill allows the Utility Management Review Board to investigate any utility districts that have excessive “unaccounted for water loss”, as established by rules determined by the board. Further details were tentative, as Mayor Winchester will be attending a meeting in Nashville on the 18th to find out more information.

The regularly scheduled city council meeting was adjourned due to lack of a quorum. A working session has been scheduled for the 28th of this month with the next meeting scheduled for March 13.
