Huntingdon Man Charged in Stabbing Incident

A Huntingdon man was arrested for aggravated assault on January 29 in connection to a stabbing incident at a Huntingdon apartment.

According to a report filed by Patrolman Brad Allen, he and Officer Pruitt were dispatched to 20310 East Main Street. Upon their arrival, an employee of E.W. James told them that there was an injured white male in the store who arrived at the store seeking assistance.

When Patrolman Allen entered the store, he observed Jeffrey Lynn Simpson, 21, of 10550 Hwy. 77, Huntingdon, sitting on the floor next to the door. Simpson had a cut on his right index finger and a stab wound in his right abdominal area.

The victim's girlfriend allegedly told the officer that her boyfriend and her father had a fight and her father stabbed Simpson.

When the officer left the store to walk over to a nearby apartment, Kenny Louis Pearson, 52, of 20310 East Main Street, met the officer in the parking lot and allegedly admitted to stabbing Simpson. Pearson was placed under arrest and transported him to Carroll County Jail.

Simpson was transported by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital Emergency Room and on to The Med in Memphis for further evaluation of his wounds.
