AGNES C. HODGSON
1914-2008
HUNTINGDON: Agnes C. Hodgson, 93, died Monday, January 21, at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center . Funeral services were Wednesday, January 23, at 1 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Ernest Pounds officiating. Burial followed in Obion Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Hodgson was born November 27, 1914 to the late George Fletcher and Eula Mae (Lifsey) Fletcher. She was a retired machine operator for H.I.S. and a member of Obion Chapel Church of Christ. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ophelia Fletcher and Edna Curtis.
Survivors include: one daughter, Joyce (Carl) Jackson of Huntingdon; one stepdaughter, Peggy Hopper of Huntingdon; three stepsons, Jim Hodgson of Michigan, Tom Hodgson of Trezevant, and Dan Hodgson of Dover; three sisters, Beatrice Bullington and Nevalee Sutton, both of Huntingdon, and Willodean Kelly of Collegedale; one brother, Woodall Fletcher of Huntingdon; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

JOSEPH ANTHONY CAVERA, SR.
1942-2007
YUMA: Joseph Anthony Cavera Sr., 66, died Monday, January 21, at his home. Memorial services were Wednesday, January 23, at 4:30 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Garry Benning officiating.
Mr. Cavera was born January 2, 1942 in Chicago , Illinois to the late Charles Cavera and Mary (Hedinger) Cavera. He was a truck driver for Hadwig Trucking and a member of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Lexington. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Cavera.
Survivors include: his wife of 47 years, Christine Cavera; two daughters, Brenda (Richard) Conroy of Lexington and Linda (Stanley) Durrenberger of Yuma; two sons, Charles Roy Cavera, and Nicholas M. (Portia) Cavera, both of Chicago, Illinois; one sister, Margaret (Richard) Bowman of Yuma; two brothers, Nick (Jackie) Cavera of Minonk, Illinois and Charles Cavera, Jr. of California; ten grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

RICHARD NED HERR
1934-2008
GLEASON: Richard Ned Herr, 73, died Friday, January 11, at Regional Hospital of Jackson. Graveside services were Wednesday, January 16, at 11 a.m. at Beech Springs Cemetery near Gleason with Rev. Gene Price officiating.
Mr. Herr was born August 25, 1934 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Ronald and Ruth Bender Herr. He was a factory worker and veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include: one son, Thomas Herr of Gleason; two daughters, Charlotte Gabbard and Beverly Herr; one brother, Jerry Herr; two sisters, Louise Jones and Dotti Foss; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Gallimore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

ALEENE DEPRIEST
1919-2008
HUNTINGDON: Aleene DePriest, 88, formerly of Maryville, died Monday, January 21, at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were Saturday, January 26, at 11 a.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Larry DePriest officiating. Burial followed in Bethlehem Cemetery.
Mrs. DePriest was born July 14, 1919 in Gibson County to the late Vollan Sir Cratus Rowe and Crellar (Rogers) Rowe. She was a homemaker and a member of Enon Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Albert DePriest; two brothers, Wilburn Rowe and Wendell Rowe; and four sisters, Ruth Smith, Ruby Lowe, Willodean Rowe, and Rauline Pippen.
Survivors include: one daughter, Jannie Ruth (Kenneth) Cable of Maryville; two sons, Billy J. (Lurene) DePriest of Huntingdon and Albert Adrain (Judy) DePriest of Austin Town, Ohio; two sisters, Verlie Faye Hamm and Willie May Cook, both of Nashville; one brother, Fred C. Rowe of Nashville; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

JAMES P. MAYO
1918-2008
MCKENZIE: James P Mayo, 90, died Wednesday, January 23, at McKenzie Health Care. Graveside services were Friday, January 25, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie.
Mr. Mayo, was born January 19, 1918, in Lexington to the late James Hollis and Millie Jane Neisler Mayo. He was a grocery merchant and farmer. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lillie Belle Johnson; and one brother, William Elbert Mayo.
Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy Bannister Mayo of McKenzie; one daughter, Barbara Fitzgerald of McKenzie; one son, Harold (Kay) Mayo of McKenzie; and two sisters, Lula Mae Holmes of Huntingdon and Lucille Woods of Gleason.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's foundation.
Brummitt Funeral Home, McKenzie was in charge of the services.

JAMES EARL HILLIARD
1926-2008
HUNTINGDON: James Earl Hilliard, 81, died Saturday, January 26, at Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were Monday, January 28, at 3 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. George Hill and Bro. Fred Ward officiating. Burial followed in New Crossroads Cemetery.
Mr. Hilliard was born May 5, 1926 to the late William Aaron Hilliard and Lucille (Holladay) Hilliard. He was a carpenter, a member of Huntingdon First Baptist Church and a World War II Army veteran. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Rich Hilliard; two brothers, Dilliard Hilliard and Joe Hilliard; and one sister, Patsy Gourley.
Survivors include: three daughters, Phyllis (Bobby) Smith and Denise (Gale) Pendergrass, both of Huntingdon, and Tami (Lee) Lancaster of Bartlett; two sisters, Kate Jerden of Memphis and June Brown of Cedar Grove; one brother, R. C. Hilliard of Huntingdon; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

GUYNETH ALINE MANN
1929 - 2008
HUNTINGDON: Guyneth Aline Mann, 78, died Wednesday, January 23, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Friday, January 25, at 2 p.m. at First Pentecostal Church with Bro. James Brooks and Bro. John Columbus officiating. Burial followed at Palmer Shelter Cemetery.
Ms. Mann was born July 16, 1929 in Carroll County to the late William Otha Mann and Oma Lee (Weaver) Mann. She was a nurse's aide for Carroll County Hospital and a member of First Pentecostal Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Simmons; and one brother, Carl Mann.
Survivors include: two sisters, Gladys Mann of Huntingdon and Ann (Wesley) Hopper of Hollow Rock; one brother, LeRoy Mann of Huntingdon; and several nieces and nephews.

MARY ALICE GRISHAM
1929-2008
MCKENZIE/DAWSON SPRINGS, KENTUCKY: Mary Alice Grisham, 78, died Friday, January 25, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, January 28, at 1 p.m. at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, Kentucky with burial in Lance Nichols Cemetery in Dawson Springs.
Mrs. Grisham was born October 16, 1929 in Caldwell County, Kentucky to Robert Marion and Dovie Lou Egbert Dearing. She was a homemaker and member of Calvary Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in McKenzie. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Bruce Grisham; and one daughter, Debra DePriest.
Survivors include: two sons, Pastor Dan Grisham of McKenzie and Sam Grisham of Oakland; two sisters, Hannah Landrum of Princeton, Kentucky and Betsy Bruce of Nebo, Kentucky; one brother, Vernon Dearing of Princeton, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
McKenzie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

DONALD MCMACKIN
1941-2008
HUNTINGDON: Donald McMackin, 66, died Saturday, January 26, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis. Funeral services were Monday, January 28, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Huntingdon with Bro. Fred Ward officiating. Burial followed in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. McMackin was born February 28, 1941 to the late Russell C. McMackin and Pauline (Burchum) McMackin. He was self-employed as a dental technician and a member of First Baptist Church in Huntingdon.
Survivors include: his wife of 43 years, Sandra McMackin; two sons, Donnie McMackin (fiance' Ellen Furr) and Eric (Jennifer) McMackin, both of Huntingdon; two sisters, Ann McClintock of McKenzie and Betty (Gaylon) Webb of Huntingdon; one brother, Ricky McMackin of Camden; and six grandchildren.
Chase Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

AMY DENISE SUTTON
1973-2008
HUNTINGDON: Amy Denise Sutton, 34, died Saturday, January 26, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon from injuries she received in an automobile accident. Funeral services were Tuesday, January 29, at 2 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Barger officiating. Burial followed in Carter's Chapel Cemetery.
Ms. Sutton was born September 12, 1973 in Jackson. She was a member of Carter's Chapel United Methodist Church and a student at Jackson State Community College. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, R. Q. Thompson; maternal grandmother, Cleta Wiles; paternal grandfather, Chesley Bly Sutton; and paternal grandmother, Molly Hester Scott Sutton.
Survivors include: her parents, John and Robbie Sutton of Huntingdon; one brother, Scott Wesley (Wanda) Sutton of Cedar Grove, three nephews and one niece.
The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Monday after 5 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until time of services.

Donald Forbess
1940- 2008
NEW MEXICO: Donald O. Forbess, 67, formerly of Huntingdon, died Friday, January 18, in New Mexico. Graveside services were Monday, January 28, at 1 p.m. at Palmer Shelter Cemetery.
Dilday Funeral Home - Huntingdon was in charge of arrangements.

ROBERT JOHN DYKEMAN
1946-2008
PARIS: Robert John Dykeman, 61, died Tuesday, January 22, at Henry County Medical Center. Memorial services were Friday, January 25, at 11:30 a.m. at Huntingdon First Baptist Church with Bro. Russ Wilkins officiating.
Mr. Dykeman was born November 1, 1946 in Reno, Nevada to the late Robert Leon and Marjorie Dykeman. He was an employee of Mark I Molded Plastics and a Vietnam veteran.
Survivors include: his wife, Doranne (Anne) Dykeman.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

PAULINE JOSEPHINE "POLLY" LANGFORD
1924-2008
PARIS: Pauline Josephine "Polly" Langford, 83, died Sunday, January 27, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Tuesday, January 29, at 10:30 a.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Beal officiating. Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery in Paris.
Mrs. Langford was born September 16, 1924 to the late John R. Langford and Edna Tilley. She was a member of East Wood Church of Christ, formerly worked at the National Store in Paris and former director of Nance Senior Citizen Center in Paris. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Langford; and one son, John R. "Corky" Langford, Jr.
Survivors include: one son, Robert T. "Bob" (Beth) Langford of McKenzie; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

GEORGE J. SIBLEY, JR.
1936-2008
HORNBEAK: George J. Sibley Jr., 71, died Friday, January 18, at his home. Memorial services were Friday, January 25, at 11 a.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Father John Pecoraro officiating.
Mr. Sibley was born December 27, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to the late George J. Sibley, Sr. and Marie (Conrad) Sibley. He was a retired maintenance worker for Weber Core.
Survivors include: one brother, Robert Sibley of Glendale, Illinois; one sister, Catherine Kerr; and one sister-in-law, Bonnie (George) Bucy of Atwood.

James Malcolm McLemore
1919 -2008
James Malcolm McLemore, 88, former Carroll County Clerk, died Sunday, January 27, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services are Wednesday, January 30, at 11:00 a.m. at Chase Funeral Home, Huntingdon with Bro. Lynn Stapleton officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. McLemore was born April 16, 1919 in Huntingdon to the late Malcolm J. McLemore and Clell French McLemore. He graduated high school in Huntingdon, where he was a well-known football player on the Huntingdon Mustang team. He was captain and quarterback of the Mustangs of 1937, the first-ever undefeated Huntingdon team - going 11 and 0 that year. He was selected "All State" and "All West Tennessee." While playing football in Huntingdon, he gained the nickname of "Mule", probably for his stubborn tenacity on the playing field. Also, while in high school he won a Golden Gloves championship in Memphis in 1938. He later played football for the University of Tennessee, and Mississippi State University - where he played in the Orange Bowl. He was also a member of the Mississippi State Boxing Team. After college, shortly before World War II started, he exercised his patriotic duty. He served in the United States Marine Corps for four years, attaining the rank of sergeant. Mr. McLemore was a productive citizen of Carroll County his entire life. Following the war, he was elected as County Clerk, a position which he served for 24 years. On April 16, 2002, he was inducted into Carroll County's first class of Sports Hall of Fame. He represented the McLemore family when they were selected to receive the Pioneer Family Award during the 2005 Heritage Festival. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Monelle McLemore Richards; and a niece, Judy Richards.
Survivors include: his wife of 61 years, Bonnie Ross McLemore; and his children, James M. McLemore, Jr. of Memphis, Bonita Coffey of Crossville, Sandra McLemore of Jackson, and Jerry McLemore of Goodlettsville; four grandsons, and one great-grandson.

ARCHIE D. SLOAN
1924-2008
MARTIN: Archie D. Sloan, 83, died Sunday, January 27, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services are Wednesday, January 30, at 11 a.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin with Bro. John Forgy officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mr. Sloan was born February 18, 1924 to the late W.T. Sloan and Ethel Denen Sloan. He was retired from Argo-Collier Truck Lines, Inc. and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty Barker Sloan; one son, Ty (Audrey) Sloan of Memphis; and two granddaughters.
