PHYLLIS DIANE GUTTILLA
1951-2008
MCKENZIE: Phyllis Diane Guttilla, 56, died
Sunday, May 25, at her home. Funeral
services were Thursday, May 29, at Brummitt
Funeral Home, McKenzie with burial at
Everett's Chapel Cemetery, McKenzie.
Ms. Guttilla was an LPN nurse and had worked
for NHC in Milan and Care All. She was born
December 17, 1951. She was preceded in death
by her father, Willard Duane Jackson.
Survivors include: one daughter, Kim (Jerry)
Parsley of McKenzie; her mother, Peggy "Sue"
Jackson of McKenzie; and three
grandchildren.
JERRY KENT HEARN
1935-2008
Jerry Kent Hearn, 72, died Wednesday, May
28, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral
services were Friday, May 30, at 2 p.m. at
Brummitt Funeral Home, McKenzie with burial
in Liberty Methodist Church Cemetery,
McKenzie.
Mr. Hearn was born October 2, 1935 to the
late Homer H. and Maggie Lois Finch Hearn.
He was retired from Republic Builders, an
Army veteran, and a member of Liberty
Methodist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Sue Britton
Hearn of McKenzie; and two brothers, Joe
(Linda) Hearn of McKenzie and Randall
(Martha) Hearn of Frankfort, Illinois.
GEORGINA EDITH MULLINS
1934-2008
ATWOOD: Georgina Edith Mullins, 73, died
Monday, May 26, at Volunteer Community
Hospital in Martin. Graveside services were
Thursday, May 29, at 12 noon at Pisgah
Cemetery in Atwood.
Mrs. Mullins was born November 27, 1934 to
the late Charles Jacques and Frances Lily.
She was a retired employee of ITT and member
of Church of England. Besides her parents,
she was preceded in death by her husband,
Larry Mullins.
Survivors include: one daughter, JoAnn
(Stan) Hadley of Milan; three sisters, Paula
Foutch of Gibson, Mary Bridges and Audrey
Knowles, both of England; two brothers,
Stephen Jacques and John Jacques, both of
England; and two granddaughters.
JAMES MILAM WEBB
1914-2008
MCKENZIE: James Milam Webb, 94, died
Tuesday, May 27, at his home. Funeral
services were Saturday, May 31, at 11 a.m.
at Gallimore Funeral Home in Gleason with
Rev. Jo Nell Copeland officiating. Burial
followed in Hopewell Cemetery in Gleason.
Mr. Webb was born January 13, 1914 in
Gleason to the late Robert and Sudie Milam
Webb Mitchell. He was a retired welder with
Navistar Corporation and member of Blooming
Grove United Methodist Church in McKenzie.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary Lou
Lassater Webb; one daughter, Delores
Friedman of McKenzie; one son, Robert Webb
of Chicago, Illinois; one brother, Oscar Lee
Webb of Paris; six grandchildren, 13
great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild.
AUDIE MARIE CREWS
1924-2008
HUNTINGDON: Audie Marie Crews, 83, died
Wednesday, May 28, at Baptist Memorial
Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services
were Friday, May 30, at 10 a.m. at Chase
Funeral Home with Bro. Lynn Stapleton
officiating. Burial followed in Prospect
Cemetery.
Mrs. Crews was born November 19, 1924 in
Carroll County to the late Lykursas Elihue
Holladay and Genettie Pearl (Williams)
Holladay. She was a retired seamstress for
Publix Shirt Corporation and a member of
Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband of 54 years,
Richard Crews; three sons, Frankie Eubanks
of Camden, Harold (Gail) Eubanks of
Huntingdon, and Richard Randel (Julia) Crews
of Missouri; two sisters, Imogene King of
Hollow Rock and Carmel Hawkins of
Huntingdon; 13 grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
SANDRA KAY MATTOX
1960-2008
McKENZIE: Sandra Kay Mattox, 48, died
Tuesday, May 27, at her home. Graveside
services were Thursday, May 29, at 11:00
a.m. at Hopewell Cemetery in Medina with
Bro. Kenny Carr officiating.
Ms. Mattox was born April 7, 1960 in Flint,
Michigan. She was a member of Pleasant
Valley Methodist Church in Union City. She
was preceded in death by her father, Jim
Mattox.
Survivors include: two daughters, Kendra
Nash of Troy and Lauren Morris of McKenzie;
one son, James (Jay) Morris of Troy; her
mother, Beula Mattox of McKenzie; three
brothers, Jim Mattox, Jr. of Redding,
California, Bud Welch of Ft. Myers, Florida,
and Mike Mattox of McKenzie; and one sister,
Barbara Hayes of McKenzie.
McKenzie Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
RUTHIE MAYBELLE BULLINGTON
1931-2008
HUNTINGDON: Ruthie Maybelle Bullington, 77,
died Thursday, May 29, at Jackson Madison
County General Hospital. Funeral services
were Saturday, May 31, at 2 p.m. at Marlboro
Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry Smothers
officiating. Burial followed in Marlboro
Cemetery.
Mrs. Bullington was born April 13, 1931 in
Carroll County to the late Andrew Thomas and
Ezra May Vancleave Haynes. She was a retired
employee of Bill Sills Sportswear. Besides
her parents, she was preceded in death by
her husband, James Eulas McMackin.
Survivors include: two daughters, Vickie
(Bobby) Forbus of Paris and Kay Edge of
Jackson; three sons, Barry McMackin and Tony
Haynes, both of Huntingdon, and Roney
(Debbie) McMackin of Paris; nine
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
ALICE ABERNATHY
1914-2008
MCKENZIE: Alice Abernathy, 93, died
Saturday, May 31, at Alive Hospice Residence
in Nashville. Graveside services were
Sunday, June 1, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in
McKenzie with Scot Alford officiating.
Mrs. Abernathy was born December 11, 1914 in
Bon Aqua to the late Early George Bledsoe
and Maude Hurcheson Bledsoe. She was
co-owner of J.A. Abernathy Furniture and
Hardware Store in McKenzie and a member of
McKenzie First United Methodist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in
death by her husband, J.A. Abernathy.
Survivors include: one daughter, Junith Ann
Abernathy of Nashville; two sons, Jimmy
Abernathy of Birmingham, Alabama and George
L. Abernathy of Jonesboro, Georgia; one
sister, Doye Moore of Burns; three
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Donations may be made to Alive Hospice at
718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37213.
Brummitt Funeral Home, McKenzie was in
charge of arrangements.
MARY W. "MOLLY" BARGER
1921-2008
LAVINIA: Mary W. "Molly" Barger, 86, died
Wednesday, May 28, at McKenzie Healthcare.
Funeral services were Friday, May 30, at 2
p.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home with Rev. Robert
Barger officiating. Burial followed in
Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lavinia.
Mrs. Barger was born June 21, 1921 in
McLemoresville to the late William Elbert
Garner and Edis Dori Lawrence. She was a
homemaker and member of Pleasant Hill United
Methodist Church in Lavinia. Besides her
parents, she was preceded in death by her
husband, Robert Clyde Barger.
Survivors include: two sons, Bobby Barger of
Perry, Florida and Jack Barger of Lake
Wales, Florida; two daughters, Betty Barger
Livingston of Madison, Florida and Jill
Barger of McKenzie; 11 grandchildren and 18
great-grandchildren.
CHERYL RADER JONES
1949-2008
VILLA RICA, GEORGIA: Cheryl Rader Jones, 58,
formerly of McKenzie and Nashville, died
Saturday, May 31, at her son's home. Funeral
services are Wednesday, June 4, at 2 p.m. at
McKenzie Funeral Home with Bro. Billy
Robison and Bro. Donald Doster officiating.
Burial will follow at Everett's Chapel
Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones was born August 21, 1949 in
Nashville to the late Wilbur and Marjorie
Lassiter Rader. She was a medical secretary
for PSY center of Georgia and a member of
Union Grove Baptist Church in McKenzie.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in
death by her husband, Phillip Dale Jones.
Survivors include: three sons, Michael
Phillip Jones, Allen Lee (PJ) Jones, and
David Christopher Jones, all of Georgia; her
mother-in-law, Elizabeth Campbell Jones of
McKenzie; one sister, Judy Pirmez of
Nashville; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 until 8
p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time
of service.
LULA WILSON
1945-2008
ATWOOD: Lula Wilson, 62, died Thursday, May
29, at her daughter's home in McKenzie.
Funeral services were Sunday, June 1, at 2
p.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home with Bro. Jim
Roberts officiating. Burial followed at
Seminary Cemetery in Pillowville.
Mrs. Wilson was born September 9, 1945 in
Pillowville. She was a garment factory
worker at Henry I. Siegel and WSW and a
member of the Church of Christ. She was
preceded in death by her father, Billy C.
Reeves.
Survivors include: one daughter, Lorra Boaz
of McKenzie; one son, Paul Wilson of Atwood;
her mother, Ines Reeves of McKenzie; two
sisters, Anita Batton of McKenzie and Elsie
Crocker of Martin; two brothers, Doyle
Reeves and James Reeves, both of McKenzie;
and one grandchild.
FRANCES RUTH FINCH
1922-2008
GLEASON: Frances Ruth Finch, 86, died
Sunday, June 1, at her home. Funeral
services are Wednesday, June 4, at 2 p.m. at
Gleason First United Methodist Church with
Rev. Mike Jeffers officiating. Burial will
follow in Hopewell Cemetery.
Mrs. Finch was born January 7, 1922 in
Gleason to the late Cletus and Zela (Young)
Trevathan. She was a retired business woman.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
Merrell Finch; and one son, Buddy Finch.
Survivors include: one daughter, Pam
McCulley of Germantown; three grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren.
Gallimore Funeral Home in Gleason is in
charge of arrangements.
JUSTIN DARRELL HAMPTON
1989-2008
HUNTINGDON: Justin Darrell Hampton, 19, died
Sunday, June 1, at Jackson Madison County
General Hospital. Funeral services are
Thursday, June 5, at 1 p.m. at Huntingdon
Christian Fellowship Church. Burial will
follow in Humbles Cemetery. Mr. Hampton was
born March 15, 1989, in McKenzie. He was a
2008 graduate of Huntingdon High School. He
was preceded in death by his paternal
grandmother, Margaret Melton of Huntingdon.
Survivors include: parents, Donna (Dwight
Williams) Hampton of Huntingdon and Marshall
(Terri Johnson) Hampton of Clarksburg;
maternal grandmother, Patricia Ann Pearson
of Huntingdon; maternal grandfather, Bobby
Staten of Huntingdon; paternal grandfather,
Richard Hampton of Huntingdon; three
brothers, Brandon Pearson, Martez Hampton,
both of Huntingdon and Kannon Hampton of
Clarksburg; and one sister, Daija Williams
of Huntingdon. |
