MCKENZIE - More than 150 youth are signed up
to attend the 2008 Bethel College Youth
Festival (BCYF) according to Tina Hodges,
director of enrollment. The event is March
28-30 on campus at Bethel.
"We had great pre-registration numbers
last year, and this year, we've already
exceeded those numbers by about 50 kids,"
said Hodges. "Many wait until they arrive to
register, so there could be even more."
"BCYF is geared toward students in both
junior high and senior high," said Hodges.
"We've got a lot of great activities lined
up, and we're looking forward to bringing a
spiritually inspiring weekend to
participants."
Hodges says the Rev. Kevin Medlin, pastor
of the Lebanon Cumberland Presbyterian
Church in Lebanon, will be the guest
speaker, and Bethel's Renaissance choral
group will get the worship services revved
up with worship and praise songs.
"We invite the churches in the area to
bring their youth groups to this event," she
said. "It's not too late to register. In
fact, groups can register up until Saturday
morning."
This year's BCYF theme is "Where does my
help come from?" and is based on the Bible
verse, Psalm 121:1.
The cost for BCYF is $45 per person for
two nights, or $35 per person for one night.
Both options include overnight
accommodations, meals and a BCYF T-shirt.
Students who plan to attend should bring
supplies for an overnight stay, including an
air mattress or a sleeping bag.
