Tornadoes Eliminate Rebels 94-49

UNION CITY -- In TSSAA region 7-A boy’s basketball action, the Union City Tornadoes, led by Tony Wilkins’ solid 25-point performance, defeated the McKenzie Rebels 94-49.

Union City, spurred by Wilkins’ 15-point performance, jumped out to a 26-14 lead over the Rebels at the end of the first period.

Tornado forward Nick Brooks, leading Union City’s second quarter offensive charge, drilled four three-pointers to spark his team to a 69-29 lead at the half.

Union City, outscoring McKenzie 21-8 in the third period and extending their lead to 90-37 at the start of the fourth period, ultimately won 94-49.

In addition to Wilkins’ 25-point, performance, the Tornadoes were led offensively by Brooks (16), M. J. Brown (12), B.J. Marshall (9), Cameron Callierott (9), Ravon Mosley (5), Ryne Simpson (5), Pat Polk (4), Brandon Easley (4), Andre Coby (3) Tyler Steward (2), Josh Batte (2) and Antonio Cox (2).

The Rebels were led offensively by Josh Brown (16), Derek Carr (13), Tyler Holt 99), Shabree Payne (7) and Hunter Herrin (4).
