PULASKI The Bethel Wildcats lost their
second consecutive game and conference match
up on the road in Pulaski to the 16th ranked
Martin Methodist College Red Hawks, 73-92.
Bethel shot well in the first half (13 of
26) but put up six fewer shots than the Red
Hawks. The Wildcats were able to only shot
2/8 from behind the arc. On the other side,
Martin Methodist was 6/13 from three-point
land, allowing the Red Hawks to take a 32-44
advantage to the half.
Bethel improved in the second half, shooting
13 of 28 and converted 6 of 8
three-pointers, but could not overcome their
first period deficit. As a team the Wildcats
turned the ball over 27 times during the
game compared to Martins 16 turnovers.
Derek Demaree led the Wildcats offensively
with 15 points, seven rebounds, one assist
and two steals. Brian French had 13 points,
three rebounds, and three steals. Leon
Sewell added 11 points with five rebounds
and one assist. LeRoy Bell also had 11
points to go with five rebounds and four
assists. Antoine Lessene and Harvoje Devcic
each had 9 points.
The Wildcats fall to 9-3 (0-2) on the
season.
Bethel will host #8 Trevecca Nazarene
University on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at
4:00pm. The game will be taped by WLJT
(Charter channel 11) and will air on ESPN
96.5. The game will also be transmitted via
