Services for Rae “Mama Rae” Lynn Darnell Verner, 61, will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home with Brother Fred Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Pravatt-Whitfield Cemetery near Camden. The family will receive friends on Monday April 21, 2014, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 10:00 AM until service time. Mrs. Verner, the Chief Cook for the Benton County Sheriff’s Department Jail, died Friday, April 18, 2014 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was born on February 15, 1953 in Lansing, Michigan to Ray Darnell, Jr. and Bessie Ziggler Darnell Holloway. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in McKenzie. She was preceded in by her parents.

Survivors include her husband James Verner of Camden, two daughters Susan (Jason) Moon of Hollow Rock, TN, Jamie (Joel) Summers of McKenzie, a son Michael (Rhonda) Verner of Huntingdon, a sister Diane Johnson of McKenzie, a step brother Ricky Holloway of McKenzie, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one on the way .
