Larry Gene Wilson



Services for Larry Wilson, 63 of Gleason, were held Monday, Feb. 24,2014,at 2:00 pm, at Jolley Springs Baptist Church, with burial in Hopewell Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Charlene Nanney Wilson of Gleason, one son Dustin Wilson of Reagan, TN, one daughter, Christie Arnold of Burns, TN,one brother Ray Wilson of Dresden, one sister, Connie Oliver of Milan,and 4 grandchildren. Mr. Wilson was a deacon at Jolley Springs Baptist Church.

He was preceded by his parents: Doug and Lynette Lambert Wilson and a brother, Russell Wilson.



James Bernard Butler, 80, of Buena Vista, Tenn., died Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Mr. Butler was born July 18, 1933 in Buena Vista to the late Curtis Lee and Era (Birdwell) Butler. He was retired from Dupont, a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, and served in the National Guard. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Gailon Ward Butler.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Butler; three daughters, Wanda Wyatt (husband Barney) of Buena Vista, Anita Bond (husband David) and Carol Ortiz (husband Hector), both of Bruceton, Tenn.; two sons, James Butler (wife Cathy) of Bruceton and Michael Butler (wife Lesia) of New Johnsonville, Tenn. He also leaves ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were February 19 in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Bro. Bro. Johnny Boyd officiated the service.



Jesse Wayne Edwards, 65, of Cedar Grove, Tenn., died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Edwards was born November 12, 1948 in Carroll County, Tenn., to the late Jesse Lee and Rasilvia (Campbell) Edwards. He had worked in the Frame Department for Gaines Manufacturing and New Generations Furniture Company.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carolyn Edwards; one daughter, Tracy Annis (Greg Forrest) of Huntingdon, Tenn.; two sons, Bruce Edwards of Cedar Grove and Wilburn Edwards (wife Julie) of Bruceton, Tenn.; five sisters, Linda Trull and Deborah Sands, both of Cedar Grove, Charlene Kelly of Bruceton, and Darlene Prior and Shelia Hilliard, both of Huntingdon; and one brother, James Edwards of Cedar Grove. He also leaves eleven grandchildren.

Funeral services were February 19 in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment followed in Obion Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Wayne Burton officiated the service.

Lawrence Breeden


Mr. Lawrence A. Breeden, 89, of Huntingdon, Tenn., died Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Huntingdon Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services were Monday, February 24, 2014 in the Chapel of Dilday – Carter Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Shiloh Cemetery. Brother Henry Simpson officiated the services.

Mr. Breeden was born March 17, 1924, in Carroll County, Tennessee, to the late Billy and Lillian (McCloud) Breeden. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie L. Breeden. He was a member of the Huntingdon First Baptist Church.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.



Dean Turner, 48, of Nashville, formally of Vale, Tenn., died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Turner was born on March, 11, 1965 in Paris, Tenn., to Diane Smothers Turner and Jimmie T. Turner. He was a Methodist in faith. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Harold and Rubye Turner; maternal grandparents, Christine Craves and Buford Smothers.

He is survived by his father, Jimmie T. (Cathy) Turner of Bruceton; mother, Diane Smothers (Elmer) Scott of Nashville, Tenn.; one daughter, Lacy (Chris) Turner of Nashville, Tenn.; one son, Dustin (Danika) Callahan of Nashville, Tenn.; one sister, Marla (Charles) McDowell of Medina, Tenn.; one nephew, Wyatt McDowell; one niece, Eve McDowell; four uncles, David (Angie) Turner of Huntingdon, Bill “Clenoy” (Faye) Turner of Paris, Tenn., Dorris (Louise) Allison of Paris, Tenn., and Jerry (Joan) Smothers of Jackson.

Funeral services were February 22 in the Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in the New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery Near Vale. Charles McDowell and Bro. Steve Whitworth officiated the service.
