PARIS — Henry County Medical Center (HCMC) welcomed eight new third-year medical students from Lincoln Memorial University’s DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine to campus on Friday, July 15. Following the onboarding process, the students began to assist healthcare providers in the hospital and within clinics in the surrounding area.  more
MARTIN — Alyssa Bynum and Bob Sparks live in different West Tennessee communities, but they share some things in common. Both are successful teachers, both are dedicated educators, and both are now WestTeach graduates. They were members of the fourth WestTeach class that graduated Dec. 13 at the University of Tennessee at Martin.  more

HUNTINGDON — Bethel University’s Renaissance Theatre is offering one more weekend of Phantom of the Opera at The Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center in Huntingdon. It is a tremendous show performed by extremely talented actors and vocalists.  more
McKENZIE (December 13) — Rotary Club of McKenzie donated $1,000 to the McKenzie Rebels football program in an effort to purchase championship rings for the 2022 Class 1A State Championships. more
MARTIN — The outstanding academic achievements of undergraduate students at the University of Tennessee at Martin have been honored with publication of the Fall 2022 Chancellor’s Honor Rolls for the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences, College of Business and Global Affairs, College of Education, Health, and Behavioral Sciences, College of Engineering and Natural Sciences and the College of Humanities and Fine Arts. more

Owen Crocker and Tate Crews were chosen from Hollow Rock-Bruceton High School to represent the American Legion Post 180 at Boys State 2022. Michael Crosby will act as an alternate to Crocker and Crews for the program. more

In 1999, the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce began sponsoring the Youth Leadership Carroll County (YLCC) program. Since that time, more than 570 students have graduated from YLCC. The classes are comprised of class members from each Carroll County high school. The program is made up of four sessions, two in the fall and two in the winter. more
The Bethel/Eastside Family and Community Education (FCE) March meeting was held in the home of Mary and Pennye Mays with ten members present. The vice president, Pennye Mays, opened the meeting with a devotion written by Barbara Cage entitled ‘May Hope Always Be Your Comfort and Guide.’ The club pledge was recited and cards were passed to be signed for Janice Chandler and Lacy Yelley. The minutes were read and accepted and the treasury report was given and approved. more
McKENZIE (December 12) — David Johnson might be described as a renaissance man with his many talents as a writer, vocalist, therapist, teacher, and music minister. Some know him for the leader and founder of the David Johnson Chorus, others for his longtime service as a music minister at McKenzie Church of Christ. But lately, Johnson has plied his talents as prolific write of books and novels. more
