McKENZIE — After months of weather-caused delays, the steel is being erected on the new multi-purpose indoor sports practice facility at McKenzie High School. Construction began in December, 2023, however, a very wet winter delayed the pouring of concrete, a necessary step prior to erecting the steel. more
McKenzie (August 26) — A Saturday afternoon thunderstorm with heavy rain and high winds shortened the annual Sweet Tea Festival in downtown McKenzie. The rains sent arts and crafts and food vendors scurrying for shelter and caused the cancellation of the music acts for Saturday evening. more
Sadarius Hutcherson, a Huntingdon graduate and native, continues to keep his football career alive. From the University of South Carolina to blocking for Tom Brady in the NFL, Hutcherson has landed in Washington, D.C. with the Defenders in the UFL. more
The two FCE clubs of Carroll County, Bethel/Eastside of Huntingdon and Macedonia of McKenzie, came together in a joint effort to host the cluster meeting for Western Region FCE clubs. The Western Region consists of 31 counties bordered by the Mississippi River, There were about 70 ladies present including the extension agents for several of those counties. Lacy Yelley, our agent opened the meeting with a welcome greeting. more

McKENZIE (October 27) — Hospital Drive in McKenzie no longer includes a hospital, but there are still medical facilities, a new high-tech company, and a newly renovated headquarters for Carroll County Emergency Medical Services (EMS).  more

HUNTINGDON (March 29) — Huntingdon Middle School (HMS) proudly announces the students who made Honor Roll during the third quarter of the school year. Principal’s Honor Roll includes students who made all A’s and Honor Roll includes students who made all A’s and B’s. more
Bethel University students, faculty, and staff officially kicked off the new school year on Tuesday, August 22 with the annual Convocation service held in Crisp Arena. more
McKENZIE (January 23) — McKenzie High School senior Mikaela Reynolds chose to continue her education at Bethel University and is the newest signee for the Lady Wildcats Basketball Team. During a signing event at MHS on Tuesday, a school snow day, family, friends and Lady Rebels teammates join in the celebration. more

McKENZIE (October 29) — McKenzie Elementary School hosted its annual Fall Fest on Saturday, October 29 and generated approximately $24,000 for the school. MES Parent-Teacher Organization, faculty and other staff organized the event, which included silent auctions of merchandise donated by area merchants, teachers, and other community members, games for the kids, and costume contests. more
