NASHVILLE — Effective July 1, all Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Lake permits will be available for purchase online. Permits had previously been sold on site through an honor system, or through local concessionaires. more
McKENZIE — A new Walgreens, Dollar General, Christian Family Medicine and Pediatrics, Multi-Purpose Sporting Complex, and a new chapel on the campus of Bethel University are all under construction in McKenzie. more
TREZEVANT (July 11) — Trezevant Mayor and Board of Councilmen heard a proposed, mandated cybersecurity policy for its water and sewer department. They also were encouraged to improve the Police Department to control the vagrancy problem in the city. more

McKENZIE (July 2) — Carroll County Fire Department District 12 located at 565 Hico Road, McKenzie, lost approximately $500,000 worth of firefighting equipment and the building during a 11 p.m. fire on July 2. A lightning strike at 7:30 to 8 p.m. was the cause, according to an investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. more
