Soil Conservation District to Hold March Election
The Carroll County Soil Conservation District is holding an election March 13-17, 2017 to fill three positions on the Board of Supervisors. The positions up for election are Doris Smith, Allen Espey and Ricky Chandler. The elected supervisors will assume their position beginning April 1 and hold these positions for a term of three years. This board is responsible for conducting the business of the Soil Conservation District and the use of state grants provided by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. The grants are available to county landowners and are used on erosion control projects with the technical help of the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to improve the water quality of the county. The Board meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 8:30 a.m. and these meetings are open to the public.

The petition must be submitted to the office by 4 p.m. March 6.
