McKenzie Contributing to Hurricane Relief Effort

McKenzie Industrial Development, housed in the former Train Depot at 89 Bruce Street, is collecting supplies and donations for the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Items can be dropped off at the office from 8 – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or arrangements can be made by calling 731-352-2004.

The first load will tentatively be shipped Wednesday, September 6.

The following items are most needed:

*Baby food, formula, diapers, wipes and bottles.

*Baby hygiene products: baby wash, shampoo, diaper rash cream, petroleum jelly, etc.

*Baby gear: new clothes, socks, underwear, onesies, blankets, etc.

*Baby toys, books, etc.

*Pet food, medium and large wire dog crates, cat litter, aluminum pans, Styrofoam bowls, dog dropping bags, litter scoops, leashes (all sizes, flat) and collars (all sizes).

*Cleaning supplies: old towels, mops, buckets, bleach, Lysol, work gloves, rubber gloves, packing boxes and tape, storage bins, heavy trash bags, masks, heavy duty razor blades, Sheetrock cutters, sharpies, paper towels, Clorox wipes, sponges, hand brooms/dust pans, bug spray, toilet paper and laundry detergent.

*Non-perishable food: pull-top cans preferred, mass quantity food.

*Snacks: granola bars, breakfast bars, protein, peanut butter and crackers, etc.

*Canned food: soups, vegetables, canned meats, canned fish, peanut butter and jelly (no glass), fruit and fruit cups.

*Dry food: cereal, Pop-Tarts and powdered milk.

*Wheelchairs, wheelchair cushions, walkers, canes, catheters, adult diapers, gloves and bed liners.

*Sheets, towels (new or used), blankets, new pillows, inflatable mattresses and box fans.

*Personal care items: toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, feminine hygiene products, hand sanitizer, razors, shaving cream, deodorant, etc.
