HUNTINGDON — Preparations are underway for the much-anticipated 2017 Carroll County Fair that runs from Saturday, September 16 through Saturday, September 23. Scheduled events include: Saturday, September 16 — Mandatory Miss Fairest of the Fair Rehearsals (ages 16-20) – 2:30 p.m. with interviews at 3:30 p.m.; Miss Fairest of the Fair Pageant immediately follows Miss Teen Fairest of the Fair Pageant. Miss Teen Fairest of the Fair (ages 1315) registration is 6 p.m. and pageant at 6:30 p.m.

Miss Fairest of the Fair $30 registration fee due September 8.

Miss Teen Fairest of the Fair $15 registration fee due prior to pageant. Pageant admission fee is $5.

Dresses will be formal wear and floor length. One winner will be crowned with four places awarded. Contestants must have never been

married nor had a child.

Miss Fairest of the Fair and Miss Teen Fair Fairest of the Fair queens are expected to attend Carroll County Fair events at the fairground throughout the week.

Sunday, September 17 — Enter exhibits from 2-5 p.m.

Monday, September 18 — Enter exhibits from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. All exhibits must be entered with exception of baked goods on Tuesday.

Gates open 5 p.m. / Rides begin 6 p.m.

Little Miss Fairest of the Fair (ages 7-9): registration-5:45 p.m. $10.00 registration fee. Contest- 6:30 p.m.

Junior Miss Fairest of the Fair (ages 10-12)-Registration begins at 7 p.m. $10.00 registration fee. Contest begins at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, September 20 — $10.00 one-price admission covers everything- rides and pageant attendance.

Gates open 5 p.m. / Rides-6 p.m.

Senior Citizens Night-age 55 and over-free entry with Carroll County Fair Book coupon.

Field Crops Judging-9 a.m.-Horticulture, Domestic Arts, Canned Goods; 10 a.m.Judge Baked Good (exhibit building will close for judging and re-open at 5 p.m.) Little Miss & Mr. Carroll County King and Queen (ages 4-6): Registration for girls and boys is 6-6:30 p.m., $10.00 registration fee. Boys’ contest starts at 6:30 p.m. with girls’ contest immediately following. Wednesday, September 20 — $5 one-price admission covers everything.

Gates open 5 p.m. / Rides-6 p.m.

Exhibit Building open for lunch-Noon-1 p.m.

Enter Poultry-1 p.m.-5 p.m.

Thursday, September 21 — $5 for pageant entry; $10 admission for rides only.

Gates open 5 p.m. / Rides-6 p.m.

Senior Adult Day-10 a.m.-5 p.m. Rook / High Five tournaments start at 10 a.m. after drawing for partners. Senior Adult contests include: couple married longest; couple married shortest, oldest man, oldest lady, woman with prettiest legs. Senior Adult Pageant starts at 1 p.m. Contestants must be Carroll County residents 60 years of age or older and reside in Carroll County.

Judge Poultry-3:30 p.m.

4-H Pullet Show and Sale-4:30 p.m.

Tiny Miss and Mr. Carroll County (ages 2-3) Registration is 5:30; Registration fee is $10. Pageant begins at 6 p.m. Sunday dress only-no formal pageant wear or denim. Classes-boystwo years old and under three; boys-three years old and under four; girls-two years old and under three; girls-three years old and under four.

Friday, September 22 — $10 one price admission covers everything. Bring in your football ticket after the game for $1 off.

Gates open 5 p.m. / Rides-6 p.m.

Remove Poultry-11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Mini-Tractor Pull Event-7 p.m.

Saturday, September 23 — $12 admission for everybody includes rides and tractor pull.

Gates open 5 p.m. / Rides-6 p.m.

Baby Show (ages one and under): registration from 9-9:45 a.m. $10 registration fee. $5 admission fee. Pageant starts at 10 a.m. There will be no late entries. Contestants are to wear Sunday dress only. No formal wear or denim. Classesboybirth and under six months old; boy-six months and under one year; boy-one year and under two years; girl-birth and under six months old; girl-six months and under one year; girl-one year and under two years.

Dog Show: Registration begins at 1 p.m. Show starts at 2 p.m. $5 entry fee. Animal entry fee is $5 per dog. Dogs participating in the show don’t have to pay $5 door entry fee. Rules and Regulations: Dogs must be under control of owner at all times. All dogs entered must have current vaccinations. Trophies and ribbons awarded to first, second and third places. Fourth place will receive a ribbon only. Classes A, B, C and D are not eligible for “Best of Show”.

Classes: Class A-Miscellaneous Group; Class B-Puppy Show; Class C-Showmanship- Dogs; Class D-Mixed Breeds; Class E-Toy Group; Class F-Non-Sporting Group; Class G-Hound Group; Class H-Working Group; Class I-Sporting Group; Class J-Herding Group; Class K-Terrier Group.

USA Pullers Truck and Tractor Pull Event-7 p.m.

Monday-Saturday – Laser Tag. A trophy will be given out to the best player during the week.

Sunday, September 24 — Pick up exhibits and winner checks-2 p.m.-4 p.m.
