MHS BETA CLUB BBQ PLATE FUNDRAISER
The McKenzie High School Beta Club is selling tickets for BBQ plates. The plates will be available for pick up Thursday, October 5, 3:30 p.m.-6 p.m. in the MHS rear lobby. Each plate includes: a BBQ sandwich provided by Big Daddy’s, chips, baked beans, and dessert for $8. Tickets may be purchased from any MHS Beta Club member until Monday, October 2 by pre-order only.

The Terry Community Park tenth annual Halloween Trickor- Treat and Haunted Hayride Celebration is the Cedar Grove/ Lavinia area is Saturday, October 14 at Terry Park on Parker Store Road.
Trick-or-Treat hayrides with Disney and cartoon characters giving out candy at ten or more stops on a six-mile ride begin at 3 p.m. and end at dark. $5.
Haunted hayrides begin at dark. The last trailer leaves the park at 11 p.m. Six miles of horror, thrills and unexpected ghosts and goblins. $5.

MES will also participate in the All For Books program. Students can bring $1 to school and his/her name will be placed on the library wall. All money received will be used to purchase new books for the library. FIRST ANNUAL SCOTT STEWART CORN HOLE CHAMPIONSHIP FUNDRAISER
This first cornhole tournament fundraising event for Scott Stewart, who suffers from lifethreatening ALS, is October 21 on the Gleason School parking lot. Along with the tournament, the event will feature concessions, door prizes and a silent auction. Teams must consist of two players. If you do not have a partner-player, the organizers can make the team match on the day of the tournament.
The cost to play is $10, registered before October 18, and $15 until day of event. All sales derived from concession sales of hamburgers, hot dogs, snacks, snow cones, popcorn and cotton candy go to Scott and his medical expenses. Baked goods donations are welcome for the silent auction. A competition style set of Tennessee Volunteer football cornhole boards with bags made by Stacy Collins highlights the auction.
