CHURCH YOUTH SPRING REVIVAL

Greater Enon M.B. Church Youth will have Spring Revival “Face the Book – An Accountable Life” from Monday, March 26 through Wednesday, March 28. Guests will be: Monday – Minister Cedric Edmerson, Clark Street M.B. Church; Tuesday night – Minister Tommy Bond, St. John M.B. Church, McKenzie; and Wednesday night – Rev. Ron Tharpe, Wortham Chapel, Alamo. Please come out and worship with us.

GREATER ENON MLK PARADE CELEBRATION

A 50th year Parade Celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is April 7 at 10 a.m. This marks the 50th year since the assassination of Dr. King. Theme: “Unity is Love.” For more information, call 731697-5468.

Quarterly meeting: Tuesday, April 10 at 6 p.m. at the shelter building.

BINGO: Friday, April 13 from 6-9 p.m. at the Carroll Bank & Trust community building in Huntingdon. 50 cent bingo games, prizes, food and a $100 gift card to Walmart as the grand prize.

VFW, CITY OF MCKENZIE EASTER EGG HUNT

The VFW Post 4939 and the City of McKenzie are hosting an Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 31, 2 p.m. at the Recreational Park in McKenzie. Great sponsor prizes for each age group. The VFW will cook at the barn and food will be available at 11 a.m.

COMMUNITY SUNRISE SERVICE

McKenzie Ministerial Alliance is hosting the Community Sunrise Service at Greater Enon Missionary Baptist Church April 1 at 7 a.m. Greater Enon is located at 313 E. Walnut Ave. All are welcome to join us as we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ as a community.

HOLLOW ROCK FIRE STATION AUCTION, SUPPER

Hollow Rock Fire Station #2, 21280 Seminary Street, is April 14, with hamburgers, hot dogs, chili at 4 p.m. and auction at 6 p.m., including furniture, tools, household items, etc.

5K RUN WALK FOR ROCKY BOLEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

A 5K run/walk is Saturday, March 31, beginning at 9 a.m. to benefit the Rocky Bolen Memorial Scholarship Fund. Bolen was a Huntingdon student who drowned. Early fee is $20 per participant. CARROLL COUNTY BUDGET COMMITTEE

The Carroll County Budget Committee meets Tuesday, April 3, 5 p.m. at the Carroll County Mayor’s Office, 625 High Street, Suite, 101, Huntingdon. The public is invited.

REACH THE BEACH 5K WALK, RUN

The Reach The Beach 5K Walk-Run is April 21, 9 a.m. beginning at the Huntingdon Court Square. Registration begins at 8:15 with an entry fee of $20, $15 for students. Online registration is available at fbchuntingdon.org. For more information, contact Cliff Kelley at 731-415-2814.

EASTER EGG HUNT

Christian Care Center of McKenzie is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on March 30, 2 p.m. at the center, 150 Oak Manor Rd., McKenzie. Bring your basket for the fun. The Easter Bunny will be available for photographs.

MISS HOPE PAGEANT

The Miss Hope 2018 pageant to benefit Carroll County Relay For Life is Saturday, April 7 in the Huntingdon Middle School cafetorium at 199 Browning Avenue, Huntingdon. Doors open at 1 p.m.; pageant begins at 2 p.m. with the 0-12 month group. Following will be 13-23 months, 2-3 years, 4-5 years, 6-9 years, 10-12 years, 13-15 years and 16-21 years. The beauty pageant is $20; additional categories (Best Dressed, Prettiest Hair and Prettiest Smile) are $5 each. Enter all categories for $30. Contestants are asked to be dressed and ready ten minutes prior to your group time. Queens in each category over 6 years qualify for the 2018 Strawberry Festival. All festival rules apply. EASTER REVIVAL

Faith in Christ Ministries, 14170 Paris Street, Huntingdon, is hosting a revival March 30, 31, and April. The Good Friday event is 7 p.m. with Brother Richard Adkisson speaking. An ice cream social immediately follows. Saturday, 3 p.m. Easter egg hunt, 5 p.m. a cookout, and 7 p.m., a worship service with brother Barry Capps.

Sunday – Easter Sunday begins at 6 a.m. with a Sunrise Service with Brother Martin Godwin, 10 a.m. is Sunday School, 11 a.m. is morning worship, and 6 p.m. is evening service. For more information, call 731-234-8609.

50TH ANNIVERSARY M.L. KING COMMEMORATIVE PARADE

A parade is scheduled in Carroll County to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. The event is April 7, 10 a.m. For more information, phone 731697-5468.

ROAD TO RESURRECTION AT LONG HEIGHTS

Long Heights Baptist Church in McKenzie is hosting a celebration called Road to Resurrection, which traces Jesus’ footsteps through the week leading to his death and resurrection. Along the path, attendees will encounter people who’ve met Jesus and become part of an incredible experience. The event is Saturday, March 31, 2 p.m. An Easter egg hunt is included in the event.

MODEL TRAIN DISPLAY

C& C Railroaders of Sharon are hosting a model train display on Saturday, March 31 at the Greenfield Community room, at the corner of Highway 54 and Second Street. The time is 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

LAVINIA BAPTIST EGG HUNT

Lavinia Baptist Church in Lavinia is hosting a hotdog lunch at noon, and an egg hunt at 2 p.m. on March 31. Everyone is invited.

MCKENZIE INDUSTRIAL BOARD MEETS MONTHLY

McKenzie Industrial Board meets the second Tuesday of each month, 6 p.m., in the former railroad depot building.

PARKER’S CROSSROADS BATTLEFIELD WORK DAY IS APRIL 7

The Parker’s Crossroads Battlefield Association and the Civil War Trust are planning April 7, 2018 for Park Day, a day of handson historic preservation and volunteering.

Volunteers will meet at the Parker’s Crossroads Visitor Center at 9 a.m.

Work will be on the 1860’s medicinal garden to clean the garden and plant herbs and other plants that would have been used during the Civil War period.

General clearing of trash, fallen limbs, and other debris will occur around the Union Burial Site.

Another project will be to clean the interpretive signs along the walking trails.

Volunteers will receive a Park Day t-shirt and a member of the Parker’s Crossroads Battlefield Association will speak about the history of the battlefield and the preservation efforts. Most importantly, volunteers will be helping save history in their own community.

Be sure to wear heavy duty clothing, work boots/shoes, and gloves.

Snacks, water, and coffee will be provided.

The Johnson Temple C.M.E. Church hosts a Prayer Summit each Thursday at 5 p.m. Join to pray for unity, love and peace in our communities, our nation and the world.

OVERFLOW CHURCH PICNIC AT THE PARK

The Overflow Church is having at picnic at the Mulberry Park every first Saturday of the month from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. There will be free lunch, clothes, and books.

LONG HEIGHTS BAPTIST CHURCH PERISHABLE FOOD GIVEAWAY

Long Heights Baptist Church Perishable Food Giveaways are on the second and fourth Wednesday night each month at 8 p.m. at the church located at 260 Old Paris Road in McKenzie.

CCHS LOW-COST CAT SPAY, NEUTER VOUCHERS

The Carroll County Humane Society provides low-cost cat spay/ neuter vouchers for $35.00. Come by the shelter 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. til 2:30 p.m. Saturdays. Call Paris Vet Clinic and set up your appointment. Take your cats in one morning and they come home the same day! That’s all there is to it.

Here’s all the information you need about these vouchers: Your city of residence or income doesn’t matter—anybody can buy these vouchers. You can buy as many as you need. All vouchers must be used at Paris Vet Clinic. Vouchers expire one month from purchase. You can use these for your cat or the neighborhood stray. You can buy the vouchers for others to use for their cats. This is an ongoing program. Cats just need to weigh two pounds, which is usually at around eight weeks of age.

PING PONG AT MCKENZIE FARMERS MARKET

Come to the McKenzie Farmers Market, 2451 Cedar Street, every Monday at 6 p.m. for Ping Pong. Beginners and experts are welcome, just show up with a paddle. There is no cost.

OVERCOMERS SUPPORT GROUP

Overcomers is a support group to help individuals and families overcome and manage addiction, anger, depression, codependency and alcoholism. AA MEETINGS AT MCKENZIE HOSPITAL

United Neighbors is accepting summer clothing at this time. Please be sure those are clean and in good condition. If the bin is full, please take items to other donation boxes.

Food: crackers, cereal, ravioli, spaghetti noodles, and evaporated milk.

Personal Hygiene: Deodorant, toothpaste and brushes, bar soap and shampoo.

Assistance and shopping are from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and 9 a.m. until noon on Wednesday. The store is closed Wednesday afternoon and Friday-Sunday.

Call 352-0547 with any questions. Donation hours: during store hours. Please no glass or boxes in the bin. Do not leave items outside!
