Rebels Corral Mustangs, 10-1

HUNTINGDON (April 5) — The McKenzie Middle School Rebels hit the road Thursday to face the rival Mustangs. Each team scored an early run, then it was all McKenzie for the remainder of the game. Zayden McCaslin and Ty Anderson combined for a no-hitter to give the Rebels a 10-1 win.
Rebel Jake McDaniel was 1-for-4 with two RBIs, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Sawyer Phipps was 1-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a stolen base. Ty Anderson was 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base. Trey Cook was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Zayden McCaslin was 0-for-2 with two walks, an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Nolan Renfro was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Collin McLearen was 1-for-2 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Jonathan Haney was 0-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored. Jackson Cassidy was 0-for-1 with a walk, an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases.
Mustang Aden Hutcherson was 0-for-2 with an RBI. Hayden Sullivan was 0-for-1 with a run scored and a stolen base. Jeb Atkins was 0-for-0 with two walks.
Zayden McCaslin earned the win for McKenzie, allowing an earned run on no hits while striking out one and walking two in four innings. Ty Anderson pitched the final inning, allowing no runs or hits while striking out one and walking two.
Hunter Britt got the start for Huntingdon, allowing four runs (two earned) on three hits while striking out three and walking three in three and a third innings. Luke Cooper faced two batters, walking both and allowing an earned run. Cade Wood threw the final inning and two-thirds, allowing five unearned runs on three hits while walking one.
