Revival at Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church is Sunday-Friday, August 5-10. Service begins at 6 p.m. Sunday, then 7 p.m. nightly Monday-Friday. Guests speakers are Michael Hilliard, Tony Boyd and Larry Hollingsworth. Melissa Hampton will play piano.
The Ellis-Beasley reunion is Saturday, August 11 at New Valley Venue (previously New Valley Church), located at 189 New Valley Road, between the new Highway 22 and Old Highway 22, Gleason. Liberty United Methodist Church Revival is Sunday-Wednesday, August 12-15 at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be Bro. James Smith. An add-a-dish meal is Sunday at 6 p.m. Also, the Carroll County Choir will sing Sunday. Rev. Melinda Clarke and the congregation invite everyone to come join them for worship and fellowship. The church is located three miles east of McKenzie on Highway 423 in the Macedonia community.
MCKENZIE POLICE DEPARTMENT NATIONAL NIGHT OUT BLOCK PARTY
The McKenzie Police Department is hosting a National Night Out block party at the city square on August 7 at 6 p.m. This is a national event hosted in part by the National Association of Town Watch. The National Night Out 2018, America’s Night Out Against Crime is one of the nation’s largest annual crime and drug prevention events. The event is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in anticrime programs and strengthen neighborhood spirit and policecommunity relations. Come join us for fun and food.

The Coleman Picnic is Saturday, August 4 at the Carroll Bank and Trust Community Room on West Main Street in Huntingdon. Formerly held annually at Big Buck School, the event is a family reunion for the descendants of David and Sara Coleman of the 19th District of Carroll County, 1832-1870. The gathering begins at 11 a.m. for a noon add-a-dish meal.
An Allen-Abbott-Furr reunion is Saturday, August 4 at noon at Mallard’s Restaurant in Huntingdon. Attendees will order from the menu.

A birthday party for Carroll County Humane Society is Tuesday, July 31 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the City of McKenzie Pocket Park on Lee Street, off of the square by the Wrinkle Building. The event includes photo sessions with Amy Bourne Photography, birthday cake by Ginger Baby Cakery, punch and live music by Two More. Tickets include cake, punch and one high-quality digital image by ABP. $20 – one person w/ one pet; $25 – couple w/ one pet; $30 – family w/ one pet. Additional images are $10; additional pets are $5 each. If you do not want a photo, but want to attend for cake and punch with lots of fun, your ticket is $10. All proceeds go to support CCHS. The Carroll County Humane Society provides low-cost cat spay/neuter vouchers for $35.00. Come by the shelter 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Saturdays. Call Paris Vet Clinic and set up your appointment. Take your cats in one morning and they come home the same day! That’s all there is to it.
Here’s all the information you need about these vouchers: Your city of residence or income doesn’t matter—anybody can buy these vouchers. You can buy as many as you need. All vouchers must be used at Paris Vet Clinic. Vouchers expire one month from purchase. You can use these for your cat or the neighborhood stray. You can buy the vouchers for others to use for their cats. This is an ongoing program. Cats just need to weigh two pounds, which is usually at around eight weeks of age.
