Parade to Honor Martin Luther King

A parade to honor the life legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is Saturday, April 7 in Carroll County.

The parade begins at Webb School at 10 a.m. and travels to Huntingdon. The theme is Unity is Love. Mr. and Mrs. Neal Williamson are the grand marshals. Neal is the president of the Webb Alumni Association and a graduate of the former all-African-American school that closed in 1965. Neal is a member of the NAACP and the MLK Steering Committee. Priscilla worked as a seamstress.

Churches, businesses, youth groups, emergency responders, public officials, and clubs are asked to participate in this event that marks the fiftieth anniversary of the civil rights leader’s death. Everyone is asked to decorate their own vehicles.
