Celebrate Christmas with The Dixie’s Annual Christmas on Broadway

Come celebrate the holidays with The Dixie Performing Arts & Academic Enrichment Center Saturday, December 16, 2017, for the highly anticipated Christmas show, A Christmas On Broadway! An annual tradition, The Dixie promises a highly entertaining evening full of Broadway hits and Christmas favorites performed by an all-star cast!

This year’s holiday event features special guest Kellye Cash with The Dixie Children’s Choir. Also, reigning Miss Tennessee Caty Davis will make a special appearance. Kellye holds the titles of Miss Tennessee 1986 and Miss America 1987. A talented performer, she has toured with Bob Hope’s USO Show and performed with the likes of Vince Gill, Lee Greenwood, and Billy Joel. Cash also played Patsy Cline in Always… Patsy Cline, a hugely successful off-Broadway musical. Originally from Memphis, Kellye Cash, Johnny Cash’s niece, is now a regionally local girl, residing with her family in Milan.

Rounding out Kellye’s numbers will be The Dixie Children’s Choir. An auditioned group of talented young singers led by Andrea Cottrill, the choir showcases the vocal abilities of local 2nd-6th graders. The Dixie Children’s Choir is one of the many exciting cultural opportunities The Dixie Performing Arts & Academic Enrichment Center is able to bring to the area with the help of The Tennessee Arts Commission. The Dixie Youth Choir has performed in the past on The Hal Holbrook stage with Riders In The Sky, Molly Ringwald, The David Johnson Chorus, Melinda Doolittle and others.

Caty Davis, Miss Tennessee 2017, will make a special appearance. Caty competed in Miss American in Atlantic City, NJ and placed in the top 12. Caty serves as Governor Haslam’s Official Spokesperson for Character Education and travels over 80,000 miles speaking to 50,000 school children about Character Education. She also serves as Tennessee’s Goodwill Ambassador for the five Children’s Miracle Network hospitals across the state.

The all-star cast for Christmas on Broadway includes Wayne Bannister, Zakkeus Bonds, Paula Bridges, Lee Carter, Christian Cook, Charleston Croom, Miss DixiePAC 2018 Lauren Dickson, Bethany Ellis, Meleah Gately, Melissa Herris, Lindsay Johnson, Emily McGill, Katie McGill, Jessica McLeese, Hayden Nichols, Hannah Pearson, Brandon Powers, and Alexis Ward This year’s Christmas On Broadway is sponsored by Carroll Bank and Trust and WLJT TV. The 7 p.m. show has sold out so a 2 p.m. show has been added.
