Commissioners Approve Tire Disposal Fee, Copier Contract

Carroll County commissioners met Monday, May 14, 7 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Carroll County Office Complex, High Street, Huntingdon.

The commission approved a resolution setting the waste tire tipping fee at the Recycling Center as follows: car tires, $3, on rim, $6; light truck $3, on rim $6; semi-truck $15, on rim $30, implement of small ag $5, on rim, $10; motorcycle $3, on rim, $6; and super single truck $25, on rim, $50.

A resolution to lease 17 new copiers from Novatech of Jackson for a monthly price of $2,928.10 with up to 48,000 copies monthly for a period of five years was approved. Novatech will pay the remaining lease payments to DEX in the amount of $59,485 plus $2,000 shipping to get the machines out of the buildings.

A resolution was defeated to abandon 500 feet of Ed Tucker Road at the new 1,000-Acre Recreation Lake so landowner, Walt Reaster can install a gate to his property. The Highway Committee approved the measure and forwarded it to the commission.

A proclamation honored Anders Rider, a 2018 graduate of McKenzie High School, for his volunteer work. He was recently honored by the state of Tennessee for his volunteer service.
