HMS Honors Football, Softball Players at Banquet
HUNTINGDON (October 27) — Huntingdon Middle School football and softball players, and cheerleaders were honored during a banquet on Friday, October 27 in the Middle School Cafetorium.
Ben Carter served as the emcee for the event.
After dinner, the softball team was honored by coaches Kim Byars and Amy Fuller and volunteer assistant Katherine Kreuziger. The team members each received certificates for their season but no individual awards.
The team had an outstanding record of 12-4-1 on the season. Fuller thanked the student-athletes for their determination and hard work.
A235/45-1 Morgan Butler honored the HMS cheerleaders. The young ladies cheered at seven football games and are in mid-season of the 2017 basketball campaign. Each received certificates for their work and dedication.
Nathan Wallace introduced the football players and each received certificates. He said, at times, the Mustangs were smaller than their opponents, however, the Mustangs overcame the odds. The team finished with a record of 6-1.
Individual Awards were as follows: Lineman – Hunter Britt.
Defensive Player of the Year – Blake Reeves.
Most Improved – Willie Jones.
Count on Me Award – Nate Ricketts and Brayden Bales.
Offensive Player of the Year – Cade Wood.
MVP – Aden Hutcherson.
