Middle School All-Star Football Game was Saturday
The third annual Centennial Bank Middle School All-Star Football Game was Saturday, November 4 at the West Carroll Junior/Senior High School in Atwood.
For the first time, the South team won the contest, 18 to 7.
The South scored three times with scores by Julius Adkisson of Lexington Middle, Seth Garner of Hardin, who covered a fumble in the end zone, and Jacob Hooper of Hardin on a quarterback keeper. Sam Brantley of Medina made the lone score for the North team and Ben Pledger of Jackson Northeast made the PAT.
Athletes from nearly 30 different middle and junior high schools participated.
The South Team roster included players from McKenzie, Huntingdon, West Carroll, Chester, Hardin, Lexington Middle, North Parkway, Henderson County South, Henderson County North, West Bemis, Camden and JCT.
McKenzie players included Kestin Horton, Jaden Johnson, Sawyer Phipps and Hayden Hudson. Huntingdon players included Cade Wood, Aden Hutcherson, Blake Reeves and Hunter Britt. West Carroll players were Wyatt Hayes and Nathan Smith.
The South Team coaching staff included Head Coach Jason White and assistants Kevin Allen, Rende Burke, Doug McCaslin, Timothy Rogers and Bruce White.
The North Team roster included players from Jackson Northeast, Northview, Lake County, Hillcrest, Union City, Three Oaks, Martin, Medina, Crockett County, University School of Jackson, Halls, Jackson Christian School and Milan.
North Team coaches included Head Coach Stephen Sanderson and assistants Matt Pledger, Dalton Cook and Donnie Cook.
Every athlete was given a participation plaque to commemorate the day.
