Weeks Named Bethel Softball Coach
McKENZIE — Bethel University Director of Athletics Dale Kelley announced Monday the University has chosen John Weeks as the new Head Softball Coach at the University. Weeks replaces Ellen Renfroe Reed who recently resigned the position.
Weeks is currently the owner of the Impact Sports Academy in Henderson, Tennessee. The Academy is softball base driven which implements group classes and camps. The Academy fields six teams with ages 8u, 10u, 12u, 14u, 16u 18u and manages the development of players at all ages. Pitching Mechanics, hitting fundamentals, offensive and defensive strategies, speed, agility and conditioning are points of emphasis taught at the academy.
Weeks has served as a pitching, hitting and catcher instructor at the Academy since 2011. Forty Six players who have played for him have gone on to play college softball.
Weeks is also a managing partner of the Madison Family Walk-In Clinic in Jackson, Tennessee.
Previously Weeks taught in the Chester County, Madison County, Murfreesboro and Nashville school systems.
He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University.

Director of Athletics Kelley commented, “We are excited Coach Weeks is willing to accept this challenge of being our head coach. We feel he has the ability to lead our program and compete at the highest level not only in our conference but also at the national level.”
