Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Archer will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, August 25 with a reception in their honor. The celebration is in the Underwood Hall of First United Methodist Church in McKenzie from 2 to 4 p.m.
The event is hosted by their daughter, Stephanie Archer-Bolin and two granddaughters, Lexie and Emily Ann Bolin.
Jerry and Emily met while both were students at Bethel College and were married on August 24, 1968 at First Methodist Church in McKenzie.
The late Mrs. Mary Anne Ward, her sister, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Mrs. Ruth Ann Wiley-Hall, Mrs. Nola Purcell-Jenkins and Mrs. Jane Hill-Fortner. Mrs. Gayla Young-Kilts served as flower girl.
Mr. Phil Higgins served as best man, and groomsmen included David Wiman, Ken Barber, Jim Young and the late Lenny Kimmons.
Emily is a retired school teacher with McKenzie Special School District and Jerry is a retired field supervisor with Tennessee Department of Human Services.
No formal invitations are being sent, and all friends and family are invited to attend. No gifts please.
