Area Veterans Day Events Scheduled

Area schools will host events to honor veterans on Monday, November 12.
McKenzie High School’s Veterans Day program is at 10 a.m. The speaker will be Norman French.
McKenzie Middle School will host veterans for breakfast beginning at 7:30 a.m., and a program begins at 8:15 a.m. featuring guest speaker Sgt. Major Spiro Roditis, music by Mrs. Haney’s class and spoken presentations by members of the student council.
A program at West Carroll Junior Senior High School begins at 9 a.m. in the gymnasium with guest speaker Director of Operations, 218th Intelligence Support Squadron, Lt. Col. Ed Baker.

West Carroll Elementary School will host a program at 1:30 p.m.
Huntingdon High School’s Veterans Day program is at 11 a.m. in the gymnasium.
On Sunday, November 11 at 2 p.m., the Huntingdon Elks Lodge will host a free lunch for veterans and their families to show gratitude for their service. There will be a POW-MIA table. Gifts will be given to the oldest and youngest veterans present.
Carter’s Chapel United Methodist Church, five miles from McLemoresville off Terry Road, will have a Veterans’ Day program Sunday, November 11 at 11 a.m. Phil Williams, an Air Force veteran, will be the speaker. Lunch will follow the program.
