Baseball Cats Release 2019 Schedule

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Coach Rusty Thompson recently released the Bethel Wildcat 2019 baseball schedule. The Wildcats open the season February 1, 2019 at home against Columbia College. The doubleheader will begin at noon at the Kahlden Complex. The Wildcats play their first 12 games at home.

The schedule consists of 39 games with 26 of those being home games in McKenzie. Seventeen doubleheaders are on the schedule.

The Wildcats were picked fifth in the 2019 SSAC Baseball Coaches’ Preseason Poll. Faulkner was picked to repeat as regular season champions in the poll. Bethel was 22-24 last year and 12-12 in the league.

·        No. 5 Faulkner, No. 18 Middle Georgia State, No. 22 Mobile and RV William Carey all finished last season ranked or receiving votes

·        Middle Georgia State won the 2018 SSAC Baseball Tournament Title

Coach Thompson commented, “We are very excited about the upcoming season with plenty of challenges.  Obviously our conference schedule is tough but our out of conference schedule is scattered with ranked opponents as well.  We have one of the toughest schedules in the country, we expect it to be challenging and look forward to it.  It’s always a great feeling to know each week you’re facing a tough opponent and as a competitor you wouldn’t want to have it any other way.”
