McKENZIE — Little girls filled the Dishman Gymnasium on the campus of Bethel University for a great evening at the seventh annual Twinkle Ball.
Myra Carlock of Bethel said it is always a fun time for all the children and their moms or significant female in their lives to come to Bethel and enjoy an evening of fun. Each year, the Bethel team of volunteers create the Christmas-themed event for the young ladies.
This is the fourth year to be held in the larger venue of the gymnasium as compared to the early years when it was in a smaller room in the Vera Low Center. As in the past, this year’s event was a sell out. Approximately 400 persons attended, including some 150 young ladies. The cost of admission was $25 for mom and daughter and $7 extra for each additional child. The price included the crafts, a meal, and entertainment. The event attracts children from area counties plus Union City, Franklin, Jackson and Paducah.
Santa visited with the children during the event.
