McKENZIE - Funeral services for Betty Jean Cook are Monday, June 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 9, 2019, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday 11 a.m. until service time. Brother Eugene Whitt is the officiant and internment is at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mrs. Cook, age 84, died June 6, 2019 at McKenzie Health Care Center. She was born in Greenfield on April 14, 1936 to Johnny Lindell and Goldie Mae Moore Mitchell. She is a member of Enon Baptist Church, a homemaker and a retired seamstress for local factories. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bobby L. Cook and brother, Bobby Mitchell.
She is survived by two daughters, Teresa (Lee) Jones of McKenzie and Carol (David) Crocker of McKenzie, one son, Don (Alice) Cook of McKenzie, three sisters, Nell (Tom) Cooper of Lansing, Mich., Sylvia (Doyle) Galey of McKenzie and Barbara Mitchell of McKenzie, four grandchildren, Derek (Trista) Jones, Chris (Mandy) Cook, Amber Jones and Josh (Courtney) Crocker and five great-grandchildren, Cooper Jones, Sawyer Jones, Penny Faye Jones, Coleson Cook and Aden Cook.
