Mrs. Betty Lou Simmons-Wilson, 80, of Hollow Rock, died Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Lifecare Center of Bruceton.

Funeral services are Wednesday, September 6, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Matt Floyd and Bro. Drake Whitworth officiating. Burial to follow at Mixie Cemetery.

Pallbearers who will serve are Drake Whitworth, Dustin Whitworth, Justin Whitworth, Brandon Boaz, Drew Miller, and Kevin Renfroe.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Tuesday 4- 7 p.m. and on Wednesday,  11 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Wilson was born December 13, 1942, in Mixie to the late John Thomas and Mary Louise (Carden) Simmons. She was a clerk for the Post Office and a member of Mixie Missionary Baptist Church.  

She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Edwin Simmons, an aunt, Zula Mae Simmons, her grandmother, Julia Elizabeth Simmons and a nephew, Ron Hatlen.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, James Robert Wilson, a daughter, Kathy Thweatt (Jerry) of Russellville, Kentucky, a stepdaughter, Lorra Boaz of Huntingdon, two sons, Johnny Whitworth (Carol) of Paris, Mitchell Whitworth (Sheila) of Huntingdon, a stepson, Paul Wilson (Lisa) of Atwood, a sister, Elizabeth Hatlen, of Evansville, Wisconsin. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Amy Miller (Drew), Justin Whitworth (Lindsey), Dustin Whitworth (Whittney), Drake Whitworth (Jessica), Ashley Renfroe (Kevin), Brandon Boaz (Emily), Cassie King (Jake), and fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
