PARIS, Tenn. - Billy G. “Bill” McCutcheon, 81, of Paris, Tenn., died Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky.

Visitation is Saturday, June 24, 2023, noon to 3 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Jay McCutcheon officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

He retired after many years from the Paris Post-Intelligencer newspaper.  He was a former broadcaster for WTPR and WMUF.  Bill was a member and song leader of Oak Hill Union Church in Paris.  He was the co-founder of Henry County Helping Hand.  Through the years, Bill was a member of the Paris Optimist Club, Lions Club, and Lakeway Kiwanis Club.  He was an avid photographer, loved music, and was a disc jockey for several decades. 

Bill was born April 7, 1942, in Murray, Kentucky, to the late Earon B. McCutcheon and the late Geraldine Hurt McCutcheon.

He is survived by one daughter, Donna McCutcheon (Tommy) Counts of Paris; one son, Jay (Sam) McCutcheon of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; one daughter-in-law, Crissy McCutcheon of Paris; one stepdaughter, Anna Turner of Auburn, Alabama; six grandchildren, Jordan Counts, Gatlin (Nina) Paschall, Grace Paschall, Griffin Paschall, Daniel Grey McCutcheon, and Lily McCutcheon; the mother of his children, Janet Cooper of Paris; family friend, Beth Ingram; and several cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, William “Danny” McCutcheon; one sister, Betty McCutcheon Rogers; one grandchild, Dylan Counts; and a special friend, Katha Caldwell.
