JACKSON, Tenn. (September 2018) – Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews will close lanes on Interstate 40 in Fayette County the next two weekends in order to shift traffic for the bridge construction project on SR 196 over the interstate. The closures are as follows:
Friday, September 14, 8:00 p.m. through Monday, September 17, 6:00 a.m.:
Friday, September 21, 8:00 p.m. through Monday, September 24, 6:00 a.m.:
This work is weather dependent.
This work is part of the $15.9 million project to build a new interchange at SR 196, the future Exit 29. The estimated completion date for this job is October 31, 2018.
