Burglary — The Sheriff’s Department is investigating the recent burglary of a Cedar Grove residence.
Jimmy Segraves told officers on March 8 that someone entered his residence at 875 Highway 424 without his permission and took several items. Reported as stolen were a glass jug valued at $200, which contained around $700 in change; a 44-caliber handgun valued at $750; a 9 mm handgun valued at $1,000; and a 223-caliber A.R. rifle valued at $900.
Stolen Vehicle, Drugs — A Hollow Rock man and a Savannah woman were arrested on multiple charges during a March 8 traffic stop in Hollow Rock. Dallas Brooks Kennedy, 20, of 21185 Seminary Street was charged with possession of stolen property and driving on a suspended license. Brittany Ann Trevathan, 28, of Savannah was charged with possession of stolen property, two counts of possession of a schedule II drug, and possession of a schedule VI drug. According to the report by Sgt. Michael Smith, he pulled over a vehicle driven by Kennedy on Broad Street after running the tag and discovering that the vehicle had been reported as stolen. While searching Trevathan, who was a passenger in the vehicle, officers found two grams of a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine in a cigarette pack, a bag containing 15.5 grams of a substance believed to be marijuana, and two Oxycodone pills. A computer check showed that Kennedy’s license was suspended.
