MILAN, Tenn. - Charles Miles Travis, 80, of Medina, Tenn. died Monday, September 4, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Charles was born February 19, 1943 in Carroll County, Tenn. to the late Miles and Marie Featherstone Travis.

He graduated from Trezevant High School in 1960 and completed his business degree at Bethel University. After completing his college degree, he joined the U.S. Army, where he proudly served his country. He worked for Equifax prior to the many years of service/retirement from Milan Express. 

He enjoyed many things during his life:  singing for his church family at Gregory’s Chapel Assembly of God, listening to gospel and country music, and watching old westerns on television. He was also very attentive to his garden, that he loved sharing with others. He enjoyed yard sales and estate sales in his free time. When he wasn’t delivering/picking up cars for dealerships in the area, he also enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Patricia Graham Travis; his sister, Ann (Greg) Hammett; his daughter, Vickie (Mitch) Goodwin; his step-daughter, Jill Hopper; his step-son, Tommy (Juliana) Hopper; his grandchildren, Amanda Bechtel, Jon Michael (Ashlyn) Goodwin; Graham, Nolan, Reagan, Allie, Carlie, and Mattie Hopper; his sister-in-law, Cathy Travis (Doug) Lowery; and two great-grandchildren, Brycen and Keaton Jones; and many nieces and nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his son, David Michael Travis; his daughter, Melissa Rene Travis; and his three brothers, Kenneth, William, and Larry Wayne Travis.

Services for Charles were  2 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home in Medina, Tenn., with Jessica McCoy officiating. Burial followed at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery in McKenzie, Tenn. +.
