Exciting times are in store for a local skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, and with it the people in the region the facility is pleased to serve. Christian Care Center of McKenzie is about to begin series of renovations and additions, with a total price tag of some two million dollars.
“We’re thrilled to begin,” says Cindy Bruton, executive director and chief operating officer at the 66-bed facility, which offers both short-term rehabilitation therapy services, and long-term care. “We look forward to providing care and services during this wonderful time of expansion, and then move forward into the future with our brand-new look!”
Topping the renovations is an expanded 1100-square-foot state-of-the-art rehabilitation therapy gymnasium which will serve short-term rehab clients and long-term care residents, plus folks in the general area on an out-patient basis too. New furniture and beds for residents are scheduled, plus an updated spa-shower area as well. Residents will also enjoy more usable space inside the building. The beauty and barber shop are scheduled for a makeover too. The facility itself, and the grounds, will soon take on a unique look featuring a new main entrance with covered parkway and a new front lobby. Also in the works is a chapel, plus a resurfaced and freshly striped parking lot. In addition, there is to be a renovated courtyard with a gazeebo for the residents and families to enjoy.
“Among our new additions is a very special gift to the community,” states Ms. Bruton. “It’s a Veteran’s Memorial Complex, our way of saying thanks to the men and women in the region who have bravely and unselfishly served our country!”
To be located on the grounds of Christian Care Center of McKenzie, the modern 1,000 square foot veteran’s complex will feature a magnificent stone arch that greets visitors. A bronze eagle, a photo gallery of our heroes in uniform, and the American flag waving in all its glory will be among the dramatic sights. The mottos from all branches of the service will also be prominently displayed.
“Once completed this hallowed area is destined to be one of the showplaces in the region,” mentions Cindy Bruton. “We’re so proud to announce our plans for its creation, and look forward to welcoming everyone to come by, enjoy the seating we’ll provide, walk around, and reflect.”
For now, it is business as usual as the new Christian Care Center of McKenzie begins to take shape. Facility staff will provide services for local residents, with an eye towards an exhilarating tomorrow. Discover more at CCCofMcKenzie.com or stop by 150 Oak Manor Road at your convenience for a tour.
