ATWOOD (May 15) — West Carroll Lady War Eagle head coach David Hale recently announced his retirement from the sidelines after coaching numerous years at the middle school and high school levels mainly at Huntingdon and West Carroll.
Hale’s replacement was officially named Wednesday and was his assistant Gayle Kendrick, who came in this year as middle school girls head coach and high school assistant. He will continue coaching the Lady War Eagle middle schoolers.

He also coaches a 3-4 grade team and 5-6 grade team. Jones hails from Memphis where he has two Tennessee Middle School state championships on his resume and coached an AAU team to fourth place nationally.
Kendrick hopes to teach his girls to play full-court defense and play up-tempo and under control while scoring more in transition.
He plans to run energetic practices and work hard in preparation for a much tougher schedule.
