Dining with Diabetes

Posted

The Carroll County Extension Office is offering Dining with Diabetes classes beginning May 10 at 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Office on Aging (625 High St. Suite 108, Huntingdon). The Dining with Diabetes classes runs three weeks and is open to anyone with diabetes, family members of people with diabetes or anyone at risk for diabetes.
You will learn how to prepare meals that are healthy, easy to prepare and taste good. Recipes will be demonstrated and participants will have the opportunity to taste each one. This is a free class.

Recipe booklets and handouts will be given to each participant. Also, there are weekly giveaways and drawings for door prizes!
Diabetes is a very serious and costly disease but research has shown that those who learn to manage their blood sugar levels; eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly can lower their risk of complications. People with diabetes can lead a healthy and productive life when they manage their disease.
Registration for this program can be made by calling the Carroll County Extension Office at 986-1976 by May 3.
