Mrs. Evelyn Tucker of McKenzie was honored on July 22 for her 91st birthday following services and the fellowship meal at Union Primitive Baptist Church.
She was presented with gifts and a memory book after she blew out the candles on her cake, decorated in pink and green and made by Teresa Phelps.
Church clerk April Corbin read from the minute book that told of her joining the church in June of 1963. She was described as being a faithful member who has always supported the church with her attendance and means.
Members of the congregation sang Happy Birthday followed by a prayer by the church pastor, Elder Ed Long.
Members wrote messages to her in the memory book.
Her birthday was actually June 8, but the observance had to be postponed at that time.
Mrs. Tucker plans on moving to Lakeside Assisted Living facility in the near future.
