Gleason, Huntingdon Split Wins

HUNTINGDON (November 30) — Gleason Lady Bulldogs and the Huntingdon Mustangs took wins at Huntingdon High School on Friday evening. Gleason Lady Bulldogs showed their endurance as they trailed much of the game to go ahead around the 7-minute mark of the fourth quarter to earn the victory, 45- 35.
Huntingdon Mustangs cruised to an easy win over Gleason’s men, 73-27. Spectators had the privilege of seeing many of the younger players participate in the fourth quarter after heavy substitutions for both teams.
Free throws often win games, as evidenced by the Lady Bulldogs, who earned nine in the fourth quarter. Gleason’s most production came in the fourth with 15 points compared to Huntingdon’s four.
Kenady Atkins was the high scorer of the game, earning18 points in the contest, with no points in the first quarter, four in the second, six in the third, and a two-pointer and six free throws in the fourth for the Lady Bulldogs.
Scoring by quarter, Huntingdon earned 14 in the first, 8 in the second, 9 in the third, and 4 in the fourth.

Huntingdon Mustangs took command of the game in the nightcap. Xavier White was the high scorer with 16, followed by Dallas Willis at 15.
Scoring by quarter for Huntingdon was 15 in the first, 20 in the second, 22 in the third, and 3 in the fourth. Overall, Noah Belew had 4, Cameron Gordon, 4, Kaleel Bailey, 9, Blake Bailey, 7, Willis, 15, Nikolas Bynum, 3, White 16, Clay Pinson 5, Dejuan Raglin, 4, Hunter Ledsinger, 3, Kieyren Jordan, 3.
Gleason’s scoring by quarter was 9 in the first, 10 in the second, 3 in the third, and 5 in the fourth. Scoring was led by Elijah Young with 11, followed by Dawson Arnold with 10. Olen Reed added 3, Carson Tidwell, 1, and Brady Witherspoon, 2.
