Gleason Splits Wins with Union City

GLEASON (January 11) — Gleason’s Lady Bulldogs coasted to an easy win over the Union City Lady Tornadoes on Friday. Led in scoring by the “A Team” - Kenady Atkins with 18 and Alexis Anderson with 11, the Lady Bulldogs bested the visiting ladies by 57, 41.
In the nightcap, it was Union City’s contest from the start, ending with a final score of 78 to 34.
The Lady Bulldogs put up 17 points in the first quarter, 16 in the second, 19 in the third, and five in the fourth with lots of fresh younger players entered the game. Union City scored nine in the first, 11 in the second, 7 in the third, and 14 in the fourth.

Gleason’s Kenady Atkins led all scoring with 18, including three 3’s, Anderson had 11 including three 3’s, Shelbie Burton had 10, Chasney Brawner and Carrington Lifsey each had six, and Alayna Anderson, Daisy Blevins and Lillie Freeman had two each.
Union City was led by Jada Williams with 17, Shyon Stephens with 8, Kyndall Davis with 6, both three pointers, Sophie Theobald 5, Triana Mackins 3 on a single three pointer, and Kylie McCadney 2.
In the men’s contest, Union City scored 26 in the first quarter, 27 in the second, 22 in their third, and 12 in the fourth. Tyler Walton led all scorers with 18 including two 3 pointers, Ben McMillan with 11, including two three-pointers, Sam Theobald with 9, all three-pointers, Cater Walton with 9, including two three-pointers, Nolan Wilson with 8, Kaler Bobo with 6 on two three-pointers, Tarioq Boardway with 5, Jaxon Moran with 4, Ben Martinek, Taylan Tribble, Neil Brown, Hudson Calfee with two each.
For Gleason, the team scored 10 in the first, nine in the second, eight in the third, and seven in the fourth. Peyton Stigall had 12 points including two three-pointers, Dawson Arnold with 8, Elijah Young with 6, Nick Oatsvall with 4, Olen Reed with 2 and Brady Witherspoon with 2.
