MARTIN — Houston W. Patrick, 84, died Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Diversicare in Martin, Tenn.
Funeral service are Saturday, February 23, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Martin with Elder Ricky Harcrow officiating.  Visitation is Friday, February 22, 2019, 4 to 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Sebastopol Cemetery in Sebastopol, Mississippi.
Mr. Patrick is survived by his wife of 57-plus years, Maxine Cockroft Patrick of Martin; his son, Joseph Madden (Jennifer) Patrick of Spring Hill, Tenn.; two sisters, Dorothy Merle (Raymond) Skinner and Mary Anna McDonald, both of Mississippi.
Mr. Patrick pastored Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church for 44 years. He served 24 years as Weakley County Register of Deeds and served eight years as Weakley County Mayor.  In earlier years he worked for Weakley County Co-op. He earned a BS Degree from Mississippi State University and a MS Degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin. He was a veteran, U.S. Army.
He was born May 6, 1934 to D.B. Patrick and Grace Madden Patrick, who both preceded in death. He was also preceded by: sister, Nell Diffenderfer; brothers, Herbert, Hiram, Colin and James E. Patrick.
