According to the report by Officer Bradley Roberson, the store manager at Hardware House in Huntingdon showed officers video footage and paperwork as evidence that Batte, who was an employee at Hardware House, had been stealing from the register, typing up refund receipts, pocketing the money, and then throwing away the receipts. A total of $1,040 was reported as being stolen.

Matthew W. Bond, 37, was charged with domestic assault. According to the report by Officer Labe Ezell, he responded to a domestic call at 454 Rollins Avenue. Resident Laura Miller told Ezell that Bond had gotten extremely intoxicated and had assaulted her during an altercation. Miller said Bond threw her cellphone over a fence, pushed her backwards out of a chair, and slapped her in the face twice. Ezell reported that Miller had visible marks on her face and body. Bond was not at the residence at that time, but officers made contact with him when he returned home later that day. Ezell claimed that Miller had assaulted him, and officers observed scratch marks on his neck. Officers also observed that Bond smelled of alcohol and appeared to be intoxicated. Officers determined that Bond was the primary aggressor in the altercation.

Two witnesses told Moon that Lott and Alvin McClerkin had taken a car belonging to Judy Jones and had driven off in the direction of Camden. While Moon was speaking with people at the store, dispatch called and informed him that McClerkin had just shown up at the Huntingdon Police Department. At the HPD, McClerkin told officers that Lott had gotten out of his car and had gotten into Jones’ vehicle, and in spite of him telling her to get out of the car, she had driven off in it. While officers were speaking with McClerkin, a deputy with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department found the stolen vehicle on Bridgeman Street, and another deputy found Lott walking on Paris Street.
