Multiple Charges — A Huntingdon woman was arrested August 24.
Sergeant Chris Cole charged Lakeisha N. Abbott, 28, with possession of schedule I with intent to resell, possession of schedule II with intent to resell, simple possession of schedule IV, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and prohibited weapon possession. According to Cole’s report, officers served a felony arrest warrant for a tenant at Abbott’s home on Lexington Street. While officers were there, they spotted a cut straw with white residue in it. After that, Abbott gave officers permission to search the home for illegal items and showed them a bag containing a clear rock-like crystal substance that she advised was methamphetamine, which weighed 1.3 grams. Officers found two other bags with the same substance in them weighting .6 grams and .3 grams, .9 grams of a white/tan powdery substance that tested positive as heroin, $113 in cash, four sets of digital scales, 100 plastic baggies, a pill identified as Clonazepam, two glass pipes, one butane torch, and a .25 caliber pistol in her room. Officers later found three other firearms in the residence, including a rifle that had been modified by removing part of the stock and serial number.
DUI — A Memphis man was arrested August 17.
Sergeant Chris Cole charged Clifford Sullivan, 42, with driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license. According to Cole’s report, Sullivan was stopped for speeding. When Cole spoke to him, he could smell alcohol. Sullivan admitted that he had been drinking earlier in the evening. Sullivan refused a blood alcohol analysis or Breathalyzer. Sullivan’s license had also been previously suspended.
Multiple Charges — A Huntingdon woman was arrested August 16.
Sergeant Chris Cole charged Jessica L. Gregory, 40, with theft under $1,000 and simple possession. According to Cole’s report, officers were contacted by Walmart employees in reference to a shoplifter. Employees told officers that Gregory had been concealing items in an attempt to leave the store with them without paying. Gregory admitted to trying to take the items, which had a total value of $351.08. When officers searched Gregory’s purse for stolen merchandise, they found six Alprazolam pills.
Disorderly Conduct — A Huntingdon man was arrested August 15.
Sergeant Chris Cole charged Nathan Forrest Pease, 20, with disorderly conduct. According to Cole’s report, officers were dispatched to Veteran’s Park in reference to a disturbance. When officers arrived, they spoke with James Kee who said that Pease had thrown an unknown red liquid on him, his truck, and people standing near his truck. Pease said he threw a red drink on Kee because they had “beef” and he wanted to fight.
DUI — A McKenzie woman was arrested August 9.
Patrolman Labe Ezell charged Lashaunda R. Taylor, 44, with driving under the influence third offense and driving on a revoked license. According to Ezell’s report, Taylor was stopped on Veteran’s Drive for crossing traffic line multiple times. Taylor did not have a driver’s license and appeared to be intoxicated. After failing sobriety tests, she was arrested.
Public Intoxication — A McKenzie man was arrested August 25.
Investigator Joseph Hedge charged Timothy L. Gilbert, 52, with public intoxication. According to Hedge’s report, officers responded to a call on Murray Lane, where Gilbert was waiting to report that someone had pulled a gun on him at Edwards Park. Gilbert had reported the same thing to McKenzie officers the day before. Gilbert appeared to be under the influence and was not speaking clearly.
Theft — A McKenzie woman was arrested August 21.
Lieutenant Angela Barker charged Wynter Michelle Strayhorn, 26, with theft of property under $1,000. According to Barker’s report, officers received a call from Walmart in regards to a shoplifter. Walmart’s loss prevention officer said he had apprehended Strayhorn while she was attempting to take baby clothes without paying for them.
Theft — A Buchanan man and woman were arrested August 24.
Sergeant Chris Cole charged Steven Dykman, 30, and Desiree Dykman, 31, with theft of property under $1,000. According to Cole’s report, Walmart’s loss prevention officer called officers after he said he witnessed the Dykmans conceal $68.97 worth of merchandise and try to leave the store with it.
Driving on Suspended — A Huntingdon man was arrested August 16.
Patrolman Cody Walker charged Gerrell Edwards, 43, with driving on a suspended license. According to Walker’s report, Edwards was stopped for driving with a headlight out. Walker ran a NCIC check on Edwards’ license, which revealed it to be suspended.
Driving on Suspended — A Huntingdon woman was arrested August 24.
Sergeant Brad Allen charged Alexis Ann Stinson, 19, with driving on a suspended license. According to Allen’s report, Stinson was stopped for speeding on Lexington Street. A computer check of her license showed it to be suspended.
